That was a different car though, not the actual movie car.

I enjoyed seeing this Esprit SE out parked near UW Seattle. Car is a bit rough, but looks to be in good running order. I like it that it is being used. :)

So due to moving and just life stuff in general I only drove my 94 S4 about 60 miles during the summers of 2015-2016 until the last week of this september. My wife and I were volunteers at the recent Ryder Cup in MSP. The week prior to that event I had some training down there and trialered the S4 down and dropped it off at the hotel because we would need two cars during the week we were working there.
Despite the limited use over the past two summers I never once hesitated about using the car or it letting me down. In my 6-7 years of ownership my one hiccup was a failed fuel Injector on a weekend getaway with my wife (and that can happen to any car).
4 days and 500 miles later I was reminded how much fun it is to drive and the only issue on this trip was the radio wouldn't power up so I had to sit there and listen to the "sewing machine" behind my head for the 21/2 hr drive home.
I previously had a project 88 esprit and am very glad I didn't put too much effort into that one. I decided to cut my losses and sell it and go for an S4 after much research and am very happy with the choice. I would not for one second hesitate to recommend someone to buy a 93-95 S4 and somehow these cars continue to go under the radar even when other comparable classics (911/308) have made huge gains. It's a ton of car for the money.

I have owned a Lotus Espirt V8 since new 1999, just sold it and purchased a California. It's incredible how much car you get buying a Lotus. Yes not the most reliable but a stunning head turner that has not showed its age compared to others in that era. Brits were engineers at Lotus not marketeers. This should have developed and owned the 911 market but oh well. If you want a great performing car that you fall in love with the Lotus is truely one of a kind.

    RIP
