for picking up women. As Chaserolls and I stood next to a particularly ghastly paint scheme at CC, girl after girl, woman after woman came up and drooled on the car. Just standing there, women get aggressive and start talking to the two dudes just shooting the ****. I mean seriously, if you can't get laid with this car, you have no hope, ever. So to sum it up, women want to be seen in the Ferrari, or drop the Ferrari name, the Lotus, well, to be blunt, they drop their panties. Yes a SoCal phenomenon
To be truthfull, both my 2000 Esprit, and my 03 1/2 Esprit, get far more attention than my 355 Spider ever did. Everyone seems to love the Esprit, and many mistaken it for a Lambo. Now, in a Lambo, they really do lose their panties. As a great man named Rakjoe once said "Doors go up, panties go down"
The reason women are more attracted to Lotus is simply that they know guys who drive Ferrari can get any women. Lotus is more of a common man. Think about it. By the way, I love the Lotus cars.
I could get laid standing next to a dumptruck What we figured out is that women at Crystal Cove walked up to the car and started talking to the guy nearest the Lotus. They walked by the Ferraris and where like 'whatever' without a smile, wave or a nod. The small size of the Lotus is less intimidating. When talking to one lady she thought the car was over 100k, when I corrected her and said it was 50k loaded, she looked in dismay at me. The other note to this, is that black is the preferred color. Normally at Crystal Cove, women are very passive, something about the Elise made them become very intrigued.
Of course, Picking up girls was a popular scene from the movie "Pretty Woman" in 1991... where Richard Gear picked up Julie Roberts on Hollywood Blvd in his silver Esprit. From the influence of that movie, in make sense that gilrs want to be picked up by Lotus drivers... who in their minds... a normal cool suscess guys.
"This thing must corner like it's on rails." *Sigh* Yes, it does....and yes, go ahead, pretend you're Julia Roberts/Richard Gere like everyone else does after they figure out what kind of car it is.
Yeah, the Lotus is way cool. Another key betty-magnet feature is the ergonomics; much like a roach-motel, once you manage to contort your way into a Lotus, you can't get out! All things considered, a woman is very safe in one of those cars! Perhaps the Exige will solve these problems?
As an owner of an Esprit, and formerly 355 Spider, the Esprit is no harder to get in and out of than the 355, and atleast you dont have to deal with half the interior turning into black slime.
I stand as witness to verify this observation. The lotus indeed got more second-looks than any ferrari. Girls of all ages were drawn to it I had never seen women at CC act so friendly, the Lotus Elise does indeed have powers over women unlike any other car there. At least so was the case this weekend, maybe it had something to do with Friday the 13th and the full moon
F430 = panty remover and instant flashing My buddy has a Lotus and always remarks, "I never get the chick reactions you get in this car..."
All exotics have powers over women, but a lot of women remarked on how they liked the size of the Elise. We also eventually concluded that a guy driving an Elise is likely less intimidating and therefore more approachable than a typical guy driving a ferrari. Whether this stereotype is grounded or not is debatable, but our limited experience today supports this claim
Maybe it's because the Elise is relatively new to the public. It's only been a year and a half or so that the cars have been on the road. The Elise is tiny, curvaceous, happy looking, and generally "cute" to women. Do you guys drive yours often? I haven't seen any black ones around the Newport/Irvine area... but if you see a Bordeaux Red Elise... could be me!
Other than curvaceous, I think those attributes are what I mostly NOT look for when selecting my street/sport/cruise machines. Fortunately for me and my taste in cars, I don't need to pickup women, I am very married. G
Actually, all exotics have power over men. I got more female compliments on my BMW than on any other car. Never got a word about the Porsche. We'll see how the Ferrari works out. But - the Elise does have a high cuteness factor. Maybe that helps.
I'm embarrassed to admit, but even I get far more attention in my Lotus vs. the Ferrari. I love the horse no less though...
The Elise has a higher 'flash' factor than the Mondial. The Mondial has nice lines, just doesn't scream "look at me!"
This is also true of gay men. Women love to befriend gay guys, but rarely do they ever sleep with them.
wow, you must not have many gay friends. i know never leave your woman angry with her gay guy friends. Don't be hatin' Believe me, I am an f-car guy too, but if getting laid was it, a Lotus Elise will do way better for a fraction of the cost, and with 1g skidpad, you can toss the ladies about until they land in your lap during a quick spin.
I tried something similar once showing off. Caught her off guard and the quick turn in sent her head strait into the roll bar.
We have a 2006 F430 spyder (don't ask) in the showroom floor and obviously Lotus and women are indeed into the styling of the Lotus while men, on the other hand, into the Ferrari.
tell that to a woman in tight mini skirt... entering one of these cars especially, the Elise, is quite an excercise, very difficult to keep the skirt not too wide open during entry..... so I see. ( anyone got pics of woman entering Ferrari's )
