Had a chance to get a few pictures of a few Lotus Esprits and Lotus Elises while i was at Lamborghini Atlanta... The Elise is a really bad-ass car... It just screams fun... i'd love to test one out, one day...

The Elise is probably a fun drive and it feels downright roomy compared to the Esprit but it's still a bit on the small side. I will let you know how it is after I take one for a drive :D Still can't see trading the Vette in unless it is some kind of super babe magnet and the waiting list magically shrinks.

BTW Did you ask what the wait for an Elise is?

I really like the minimalist approach used by Lotus- if only I could fit. Very elegant - I like the first series even more.

Perhaps I need to work on my own 'minimalist approach' :)

LOL, Russ, i'm a big dude and i can fit in an Elise - so unless you're bigger than me, i don't think you'll have a problem... If you ARE bigger than me, well, then, that's a different story... :)

Mark, i didn't speak with anyone there - but there were at least three Elises just sitting there... It was weird - i thought all these cars were spoken for... Give them a call, see what they say...

The Elise is an amazing car Collette owned one for a while a yellow 111S she used to scare the hell out of me, Mark on the twisties the Vette would be history trying to keep up with one of these.

The Elise is an amazing car. I'm not a big fan of the Esprit though.

That Esprit is very cool, But the Elise still looks like a goddy kit car.
I know its light and performs well even with only 190HP, but its a funny
looking car to me. Sorry to insult anyone but variety is the spice of life :)

Thanks for the pics Carbon, you know Lotus US head-quarter is in Decatur, Georgia. Be prepare to see alot of Elises in your area since you're from the area. I picked mine up about 2 1/2 months ago and the car started to grow on me, now I drived it as a daily-driver. I posted a thread in this section somewhere about 2 mos. back.

PS. Hope your tooth doesn't hurt anymore, Take antibiotics! Doctors order

It's pretty light, go to the gym a few more times a week and you should have no problem.

its a great car. The happends after is warmed up and above 6500 rpms. Really a great car. All of ours are spoken for, and the wait at our place is 14-18 months depending on Lotus.

    Thanks for posting those pics.

The Elise is my current fav... Damn, I'd do anything to get one! I'm hoping it'll be certified and soon for Canada.

Henry Tran was kind enough to answer my questions concerning Elise ownership... Answers I kind-of expected ;) Thanks (you should have received my PM by now)!

Henry, i had no idea Lotus' US headquarters were in Georgia; maybe i should take a trip there... So how do you like your Elise as a daily driver...? The car just looks like tons of fun - i don't know how you get any work done...

Tooth still hurts; gonna raise hell at the dentist's office in about 12 hours, though, thanks... :)

    Mark, that was corny...

I thought the new Elise looked kinda goofy the first time I saw it. But after doing some looking around, I saw one on the web in starlight black with 'bronze' wheels and just found myself saying - holly ****!! Maybe I'll head down to Fox Valley Motors tomorrow and see if they have one sitting around I can take a look at.
