    All the sudden my Mac has started blowing a nice breeze out its bottom with a loud as hell fan.

    Its never done that before, is it normal?

    a little unusual for Macs, but not unheard of... (sorry for the pun)

    Anyways, just get some canned air and with your computer OFF, and preferably outside (you will be blowing a TON of dust around), blow air through all of the vents, in both directions.

    Do it thoroughly, it will take some time to dislodge all of the dust that has built up in the heatsinks and fan blades, but blowing out all of that dust is the first thing to try.

    Sir, take care to remove the turtleneck sweater from the device and it shall run many degrees cooler.

    You know come to think of it....my wife did something to the mac and its all quiet now and no breeze is blowing.... Coincidence? I think not!

    Mine occasionally does that, not really any big deal as far as I can tell. It's just hot enough that the fans really kick on. If you are really concerned just shut it off for a while and restart.
