I remember hearing Carbon say the FXX "sounds like war..." I love this description.

The Mille Miglia exhaust sounds great on a 355, and Kreissieg makes a great product but if one used a 360 CS, or 430, what is the LOUDEST legal exhaust on the market? Something that would disturb the peace. My idea is to have something loud enough for ear-plugs when driving. I know im crazy. But what'a you got?

    I like this one... http://youtube.com/watch?v=zUtP8WMa6pg&feature=related ...

The LOUDEST legal ones are usually stock.
Anything else will say for closed course competition.

loudest legal exhaust in most states are 86 decibles at the exhaust pipe. Capristo stage three barely makes it under that. anything you install will be checked when the car is inspected at the DMV for renewal. jon in delaware

i saw this thread and was looking forward to hearing stories of cars that are too loud.

i just had a custom stainless exhaust for my 930. prior to this set up, i had a b&b full system and while it made nice sound, as many know, turbos are generally fairly quiet.

my new stainless system is a beautifully mandrel bent 3" straight system that exits out of the stock exit area. it was all going well until we did first fire...loud did not come close to describing!!

under full boost at 7500 rpms it was obscene. i was hoping for loud but i was thinking that turbo loud may have been bearable.

    it is not!

attached is a quick video clip we shot before the new system. i will post the new system when we make the video tommorow if we are able.

In MD--technically ANY exhaust other than stock is ILLEGAL!!!! MD Transportation Article-22-609(a)---Modifying exhaust system to cause excessive noise emissions.. I am sure most states have a similiar law.. Not that I care--My Ferrari has aftermarket exhaust..

There's no single answer to this as it can vary by location/time/zoning. My own city has a very strict local Noise Ordinance 5-9-3 (55dB during the day and 50dB at night in residential zoning), but not sure how zealously it is enforced:

I think I know the answer, but what determines "excessive" who who makes that judgement? Plus, I put a SS exhaust on my car because the steel one was damaged. It wasn't to make "excessive noise" although it IS louder. And who says it's "noise" anyway?

Good thing I don't need inspections though as I doubt a judge would agree to my defense!

Fred has the Tubi NGT exhaust on his 360CS and it is very loud. Very good and loud. Almost too loud, but good. It is nice and loud. Are you getting used to hearing loud all the time??? If so, go for it!

For the road though, is it Capristo that is the loudest? I was thinking do a CAT bypass and then do an exhaust on top of it... That should be nice?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUtP8WMa6pg <-----Who makes this exhaust?

My 308QV with Tubis requires ear plugs between 3500 - 4000 rpm (crusing speed). A certain headache without the plugs.
