    Hi All,

In the quest for more and better sound, I'm considering having a custom exhaust made for the 328. I've seen good things on here about (the original) Lou's Custom Exhaust in North Reading. I'd like to talk to the "person in charge" there about it. Does anyone know who that is - is there a "Lou"?

Also, if anyone could share their experiences with Lou's, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Hello Carmine, Lou's Custom Exhaust fabricated a beautiful stainless steel system for my then Black TR. High Flow Cats and Test Pipes. Both flanged for ease of removal. Excellent quality. If I recall correctly the owners are a father son team. I dealt with the son. I think he may have been Lou as well. Birdman may know.

I went there about getting a full 3" header-back for my Viper. I heard good things but I was not too impressed. They talked about using aluminized tubing, etc.

I ended up going to a place called Skip's in NH on Rt. 125, past Plaistow Powersports. All the guys at New England Dragway said they were "the" place to go. I was happy with the fit and finish, but what I was NOT happy about is I had left the design up to the guy doing the pipes. The welds were great, perfectly aligned, steel pipe, etc. But he used two 1.25" pipes (WAY too small for a Viper) and he didn't mandrel bend them, so they were smaller diamater where the bends were.

I've heard Lou's does good work, I'd just set expectations before they start cutting and welding!

    Thanks, guys.

In terms of design, thanks to MufflerMan (Colby) on this site, who crafted a nice exhaust system for his 328, I think I have a good idea of what I'd like to do. It's more a matter of trying to find an expert "exhaust artiste" to get the job done....

Hey... I got a custom exhaust done for my old Mercedes S55 AMG couple years ago in their Boston Location... I dealt with Lou... they are great fabricators, the whole team... came up with a beautiful setup (stainless)... amazing sound but was way too loud so went back to them and they happily built me a more efficient sounding system for the streets of Boston at no expense>>> Great/ old school guys <<<

I had Lou's do just some bracket repair work on my 308 Ansa exhaust and they did a nice job. Not a big job, so I can't really tell how good they are from that, but they were nice to deal with. They are very highly regarded around here.

I don't know if I am going to be of much help, but I went to one of the Lou's in plymouth to get an exhaust installed on my truck. Too bad thats the closest thing I have to a Ferrari. Anyway, I already had the kit, but they installed it for me and did a good job on it. The job wasn't something that would challenge their abilities, but they did a great job with it either way.
