    For those of us in the south, I despise the arrival of these flying pests so much! This year, they seem particularly difficult to remove from the front and mirrors of my cars.

    The real problem lies not in their nuisance, but that fact that their acidic corpses can eat into the paint, leaving pits and scarring it.

    I vividly recall that there were virtually none after Katrina in 2005 when the hurricane appeared to have blown them all back to hell. However, they returned the next year and have been getting gradually worse.

    Anyone one else having issues with these bugs?

    When I lived on the Gulf Coast, I found the best solution was to keep a thick coat of wax on the car and RainX on the glass.
