    ... the Asian tsunami disaster.

While I am a passionate F1 nutter, some things are way more important ... and spending another 1/2 a billion on another F1 season is embarrassingly out of proportion with the suffering and real world needs of the people from the countries involved with this disaster.

It would be great for the teams image if they chucked say $1 million US at a charity for this cause ... infact it would make me a proud Ferrari supporter.

    Pete
ps: I can think of many other worthy charities too ... but this disaster, surely nobody can ignore :(

ps2: We donated $500 today, so am putting money where my mouth is (or whatever the saying is ...)

Interesting thought and thanks for donating money Pete, you have my respect (well you had it before anyway).

I was actually thinking about MS and am quite sure he has/will donate a ton of cash to the relief efforts. He always does and it never gets any press because he doesn't want to talk about it. Finally there is something good coming out of those silly admiral hats.

Reading elsewhere of the efforts of the Western Aussie surf community to respond to re-establish supply networks thru the Islands, by water........

    Cheers!

Maybe 'bridges' CAN be built, where 'walls' existing before, between people of all races.........

Last time there were those major floods in Europe Schumi gave 3 mil, I think he might have done it quietly. I don't think he's an attention whore like *ahem Paris Hilton* some people are. :)

You mean like Sandra Bullock did. She gave $1m to the Red Cross for the tsunami relief fund.

Whilst I appreciate that the "Eastern Dissaster" was a horrific event, and we are all free to help in anyway we can, it's nevertheless occasionally worth putting these "natural" events into perspective - since this post was created 185,000 people of this planet have died of starvation, nothing to do with the "tsunami" - thats just the UN's daily average being applied. Another 37,000 will die tomorrow etc etc etc

    Sh*t happens - unfortunately

Maybe this disaster might finally spir us all into action so that we continue to donate and help others less fortunate than us.

There is no need for anybody to starve to death on this world, we have enough for it all to go around. Civil war and greedy bastards get in the way and the innocent suffer.

Something to think about the next time we all swing our legs into our Ferrari (or Alfa Romeo in my case) ... and blast down the road.

**** does happen, but many are doomed just because of where they are born ... and we all sit back and do fnck nothing. Nothing more than luck caused us to be born into great countries like America or Australia ... nothing more.

And if you look in the supercars forum you'll find a thread about it where some people take issue with this 400th car "diluting" the value of the other 399.
