HW made the FXX in normal version, very poor quality............... http://cgi.ebay.com/FERRARI-1-18-FXX-HOTWHEELS-Red_W0QQitemZ170007799338 don't expect too much on the model..... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks like only the ultra-ridiculous expensive elite FXX will have black rims. Nasty Mattel, they're trying to force people to burn money...
Today, I got the Normal FXX, and I have done a little comparison with my Elite FXX. The exterior look is fair, however, the interior is less detail as the Elite ones. Of coz, with the cheaper price, I think it is ok. The front is looking good, except the rear and engine cover... The engine cover is made of plastic, the color is not matching with the metal body, but the color is close. Judging from the photos, I'd say the 'normal' version is MEDIOCRE. Those wheel rims are just horrible. Is Mattel trying to force people to get the Elite version?
If you paint the rims to black color, and change those clear parts at tail, it still a piece of model..
It looks worse than most of the regualr hotwheels I have. Perhaps there going lower with the low end now that they have a seperate highend model line.
I have two mattel models (non elite) and find they're pretty good and pricing compared to more detailed models is definetly great. $40 difference or more (for really high end) keeps me from affording these
As compare with Regular Enzo vs Elite Enzo and Regular FXX and Elite FXX. I really find that the regular FXX is too much low end as comparison with other regular Ferrari models...
I just got my elite fxx from legacy diecast today. Overall I thinks its pretty good. I've never really bought any of the more expensive models but for $70 I think its pretty good its alot better than all my other hotwheels models. The interior and engine are a million times better and the paint seems to have more of a shine to it. Too bad the wheels aren't black though.
I nearly bought the limited edition 'super' elite fxx (limited to 2006 pieces) because its higher detail than even the elite and more importantly its got the black wheel rims. Only thing that stopped me was reality its £180!! thats a mark up of £130 just to get the correct rims, daft thing is, i came very close in the shop to giving in to stupidity.I mean thats more than an Exoto or cmc for a tarted up hot wheels!!? is there anyone who has more money than sense who is actually considering buying this variant?
