    Out of my mind
In Johnny's Junk food drawer thread which I almost hijacked (sorry John), WAX got me thinking about the nutritional value of stuffed olives. which in turn gave me the idea of posting foods (preferably good tasting) that are low in fat, carbs, and/or calories. all of which may help some or all of us in reducing some inches around the waist line. the idea is to possibly create a large enough archive to which one can custom make their own diet with food that are good tasting and good for you. I began this diet about a month and a half ago and have lost roughly 15lbs. without starving myself and little exercise.

please post food items i.e. beans, tuna ect. NOT actual diets.

please break each item down by its Nutritional Facts located on the package label.

I will try to post the nutritional info for this later, but I did quite a bit of research before I completely changed my lifestyle. My "diet" is mostly compromised of oats, chicken, protein powder (whey), multigrain bread, Fiber One, 1.5+ Gallons of water, celery, salad, natural peanut butter, almonds, and occasionally fat-free cottage cheese mixed in with sugar-free jello (easing off because it's not easy on the stomach).

Fat from essential fatty acids, lots of fiber, eat as often as possible (I have problems with this and eating ENOUGH - low calorie foods add up in volume).

Before, my day would pretty much comprise of snacking on chips/crap, with a meal from BK or Chipotle. HORRIBLE - can't imagine anything worse than that. No cheating! :)

To be honest, I'm embarassed to say how much weight I've lost, but this is pretty much the cleanest diet you could go with. Virtually no sugar, just a TINY bit of Splenda and a good balance or nutrients. Just wanted to add my two in this thread because this has worked SO well for me.

I lost about 40 pounds with a diet similar to yours years ago except replace chicken with raw tuna. What is the deal with jello + cheese though?

I think you wil always have better results if you mix a simple, healthy diet with a rigorous exercise routine.... and if you have the determination, you will always find the time. Join a gym and do whatever it takes to exercise at least 1/2 hour, 5 days a week.

corn is a calorie-free food. it comes out like it goes in so it's only really a vehicle for butter and salt.

It's sounds nasty, but cottage cheese is in a world of it's own, and it's a great source of protein - easier to eat, faster. Many bodybuilder's use it as a staple in their diet.
