I had to remove it to fix the passenger side window. But when I try to reattach it the door panel will not go high enough. That means there is a small gap between the lower door panel and upper. Most noticeably close to the door handle. I made sure to have the door handle open when I put the handle back on. Anyone done this before?

Bump. Did a search, not really coming up with solutions. Anyone can help me?

    Bump again.

I've been searching like crazy for an answer. Only thing I have seen is something saying perhaps you need to use a few washers to raise the lower door panel to the proper height.

But anyone who has had to take the lower outer door panel off, can you please throw in your two cents?

    Thanks.

How much of a gap do you have? I've removed and reinstalled my lower door panel and didn't have a problem.
Have you tried to loosen all the nuts and bolts for the panel, then tighten the bolts by the door handle and upper part of the scoop first to bring it as high as possible? Once these are tight, the lower panel is flush up against the upper door mounting brackets and it won't go any higher. Don't over tighten the 2 lower nuts by the sill or you may pull the studs out of the lower door panel. Also, double check your gaps, especially the front gap, since it can get real close when you open the door.

Thanks. I've had so much trouble with the dam door. It got it as high as I could, and now I noticed it is scraping against the front fender, so I need to remove it again, re line it up. Strange thing is the gap at the front of the driver's side door looks less than the passenger side door, but it's the passenger side door sill that is scraping the fender.

I am starting to think this is a two person job so that one person can watch all the gaps!!

Then to top it all off, I guess I did over tighten the bottom screw still (even though I really thought I was being careful, and the whole screw has come out of the bottom of the sill.

I've walked away from this three times, spent probably four hours, and am completely frustrated at the poor fit.

Also, the issue may be the bottom three or four nuts and studs. From what I remember, there are couple of studs and nuts on the bottom end. If the studs do not go into their proper sluts inder the door, that will prevent you from pushing the air vent all the way up to have a nice line between teh penel and the door shell.
Also try to see if the legs on the bottom of the door shell that hold teh studs and the nuts are not bent downward pushing the panel down.
