trying to pull instrument cluster out and steering column is in the way. Howe do I lower it or is there any other way to do this. Also I need to pull the dash out to get re-done. Anyone do this before
It is not the wheel thats the issue as its the column thats in the way. I checked under and see the bolts. Does the upper steering colum cover come down with this as I see the steerig lock to the side and hits ignition switch. Manual shows nothing about this
No it doesn't move. Caution here if you lower the colum too far the ignition lock will move enough to pop off its trim ring. You do need to remove the lower cover. Be sure to put the column exactly back or you will cause binding of the shaft unless you loosen the nut near the bottom of the shaft. Part 24 on the diagrams. When all else fails read the damn manual. - wife
The steering column is adjustable. You have to take off the trim piece under it that will expose a bolt to loosen. The column will then slide up and down. Aaron
