Is there anyone here who changed the two lower transmission bushings associated with the lower torque link as a "stand-alone" project? Here's why I ask.

I replaced the upper transmission mount and the engine mounts on my 360 Modena but I still feel a little feedback through the shift lever when I accelerate or decelerate. I get the feeling that the engine/transmission unit is moving a little bit. So I've ordered a set of lower suspension bushings for the lower torque link, hoping that will tighten things up. I plan to replace them when I change the engine and transmission oil. The workshop manual procedure relating to the transmission lower torque link is blended in with the engine removal procedure. Consequently, there is a long list of things to remove including the bumper.

My question is: Can I replace these bushings after removing the lower tray or must I also remove the bumper? Any problem pressing them out? Any other hints or tips?
