After tracking the car 4 times I decided to adjust the suspension and alignment. In aggressive track driving, I found the car to understeer quite a bit, and it scrubbed all the tread off the outside shoulders of the front tires after just four days. The car has the front lift on it, so I needed new springs in order to lower the car.

I don't have any track driving impressions of the new setup yet, but thought I'd post a couple of pictures. I'm happy to have shrunk the gaps between wheels and fenders. I always thought they were too big.

I'll post some driving impressions after my next track day.

Looks really great...good that you have the lifter. Oh, and if it takes 4 days of track to trash the tires, you're not going hard enough! :) A couple of hours should pretty much finish them off.

The lowering is perfect. Any lower and it's gets a little getto and the risk that you will bottom on road undulations goes up incrementally!

But I would recommend that you get spacers installed for the wheels look a little too inboard in some of the pictures.

I would recommend the Novitec springs, they give a lot of flexibility to the
    drop

Yep, both our local tracks have quite a lot of elevation change, so lowering too far runs the chance of bottoming the car out at several parts of the tracks.

I was thinking about spacers but concerned it may cause rubbing on the fenders. I'll talk to the dealer about it. Can anyone recommend a brand of spacer or are they all the same?

Looks great. I agree on spacers. Try 15mm from novatec.

For me its incredible that Ferrari delivers the 458 with such ride height (off road look) it looks 100 % better.

Yeah agree, the car looks so high in its OEM form. Novitec springs are the way to go!

My fronts are toast too. What kind alignment settings did you go with? How does the ride quality differ from stock?

If you just want to lower 10-15mm use oem and realign to factory specs.

I have Eibach in the scud and NR in FF and F12 and they all feel ok but I know people that lowered the car with oem springs and they are ok.
If you want to make the suspension a little bit more stiff use Longacre spring rubbers they have different rattings.
