Nice car, I will say I see Stradale's sell around $185,000 on a fairly regular basis. I have a friend that owns a major leasing company and he indicated that the original residule values were too high and that these cars are becoming a tough sell in light of the performance of a 430.

While these cars are fantastic, the raw nature of the car and its un-unique apperance as compared to a stock 360 makes for a limited market.

I wish you the best, but at $199,000, with higher than normal miles, and no stripe, I would think a buyer could pick from just about any Stradale being offered and be able to buy with change in his pocket.

I think the offer mentioned above at $192,000 is more reflective of the market, and no, I do not know the person who offered you $192,000.

my local dealer just sold a red one with only 1800 miles for $195K . I would say $192K is a good number. good luck with the sale and the purchase

    Mr. GoodWood,

If I may offer some advice - it seems, based on marketplace conditions, you have a fair, albeit firm offer on the table that, if you wait much longer, may not be there when you finally decide to accept it - ie; he found another CS or changed his mind after reading these posts.

Time can be your worst enemy during a pending, legitimate negotiation.

    Make the deal.

    Just my 2 pennies..

I bought a Ferrari on e-bay....... If going to the dealer and getting porked for another 10% makes you feel better knock yourself out. If its on e-bay with the right documentation, passes a PPI and is what I am looking for, its gone!!!

$199k for a Stradale with 4900 miles, seems to be on the high end. of course this is my $.02 but i'm starting to see Stradales with Buy It Now prices for $187500, etc. for highly desired resale red and same miles on eBay. of course there are more expensive ones as well. but it definitely appears that if your patient, a deal can be found!

Maybe I'm just mincing words here, but ("My offer for 192K stands. (really)" is not what I would call a firm offer. To the best of my knowledge, I have had no previous contact from Chris 550 before today's post, and certainly no previous bonafide offers. In light of that, how could his apparent off the cuff quip be considered a "fair, albeit firm offer"?

I know I'm going to start sounding argumentative here, and I don't mean to, but the red cars always go for the least amount of money because they outnumber any other color on the market 3 to 1. My car is not the ebay's Silver with Red/Black Alcantara, it's Titanium with the much more expensive *full* black leather/contrasting stitch. That should be a huge difference to a potential buyer.

From my humble experience, if you find a car that is "exactly" what you want and what you have been looking for, you should be comfortable spending a few more grand over MV to get it. If a car is "not exactly" what you want, or comes with some weird history, you probably should not consider it even if it is a few grand less than MV.

Spend a little more to get your perfect dream car and be happy for a long time? That would make the extra few grand feel like the best money you have ever spent. Spend a little less hoping to get a "good deal" might work if you feel lucky, but if you are not lucky, the entire amount spent on the car will look like an utter waste of money.

My point? Spend a little more and get the perfect car you have been dreaming about and get it over and done with. Buying my stradale was definitely not the best investment, but it definitely is the best and most enjoyable decision i have ever made. Maybe that's just me, but i prefer not to roll the dice hoping to get a good deal and save on a couple grand for an almost 200k car.

Life is too short, enjoy it while you still can.

I'd be surprised if the offer from Chris is real. He's been kicking the tires around here since June 2005 from what I can tell. Goodwood...I'd say stay on your asking price. Your car is the right color and has the right options (especially the seats which a lot of folks have dismissed...yours look 1000% better than the alcantara seats of most Stradales). If I didn't already have an F430 with exactly the same colors (except my calipers are red), I would buy it.

    Good luck.

If that is true, Steve has a point. It's time for Chris to legitimize his offer and put it on the table......Until then, Steve has a right to ask and everyone who is in the mkt has a right to pass.

It seems like the Stradales are finally starting to come down. 186K for Striped Silver Stradale with 5K miles seems like a good deal. We had a similar thread last month debating Stradale values where people were asking 215K for Red Striped Stradale with lower miles and full leather. Some people think as their car is worth more than red because theres too many red cars. So if a non red striped car is 186K what should be a red one, maybe 175K just a guess! so the last month's asking prices of 215K...you would theoretically be taking a 30-40K hit if you paid that. You have the right to ask whatever you want and the market is just that a Market: what someone is willing to pay. Hopefully you get your asking price. Just my .02

Well, I have been kicking tires. Too close to the 430 price is just that...for me.
Cars depreciate. Looking at the curve, a 430 may be flatter than "the best (imo)" Stradale.

I can't personally imagine a more perfect Stradale for my taste. Also, I like a louder, harder ride in general. I am on the 997 GT3 list, but have dreamed of an f-car since childhood.

Coming from very humble beginnings, I am just scared of spending that kind of money and making a mistake, whatever that means. Add to the equation a little bit of fear about what happens once I have everything I ever wanted, like "what next", and this special time becomes a little confusing. Can anyone relate?

PS: I am going to take the plunge soon. Maybe this can be followed as some sort of epic saga. Side bets should be considered. I'm not ruling out a mini-series.

The issue of "owning everything you ever wanted" will evaporate once you get an f-car and step on the gas pedal. Remember you only get one chance to live your life...you can step it up a notch by buying a 360 (and Goodwood's car really is an excellent example from all of the pics I've seen).

    Good luck.

The poor CS has been languishing in the garage for about 3 wks, so this evening, I decided to take her out and warm her up really thoroughly. What a nice evening for a cruise too. When I got finally took her all warmed up and out onto the highway, then opened her up in 3rd and 4th with the windows down, I thought to myself my GOD, I'm REALLY gonna miss this car! The sounds it makes when the exhausts open @5k are just plain orgasmic! Makes anything short of a CGT from Porsche sound like a dog fart! ;) But, in order to swing a bigger winter home in FL, it must go. I just can't justify both financially. Still plenty of time to find a new home for my baby.
