I want to lower the rear 1", do I still need a alignment?

I'd be wary of just lowering the rear of the car. Whenever the right height is altered - you'll need the car aligned correctly afterwards.

Ride height is the reference point for the alignment measurements. It is best to re-do the alignment after the change in ride height
