I know there are probably many post on this matter but my 93 tr needs a new look! I am thinking of lowering the car and updating to newer wheels and maybe a brake rotor/caliper upgrade. Can anyone advise me on this project(the right way to lower the car/wheel size) please.

A TR is only 4" off the ground as it is. Go any lower and you won't be able to drive it anywhere.
A big brake kit isn't a bad idea though.
Different wheels are a matter of personal taste.
You are talking some serious cash outlay for the brakes and wheels though.

Personally, I would spend the money on a new one-piece differential carrier before yours blows it's guts out on the road. (I'm not kidding)

That's really good advice. The 512TR brakes are already about as upgraded as you can get unless you're doing track time. The upgraded diff will also likely add at resale time whereas the others probably won't. But either way, the desire to massage these cars into your own is strong!

AFAIK, the 512TR has adjustable suspension...so lowering your car is a 2h job + alignment check afterwards.

Regarding the wheels...frankly, the OEM ones are perfect fit. Testas on 19"? Nope, dislike.

Regarding brakes - well, you already have the updated Brembo brakes on board - no need to up-upgrade in my eyes.

None of the Testas have adjustable suspension Sebastian other than the usual shims for tracking adjustment.
If mine were any lower it would scrape the ground too easily :( and mine is standard.

But does that adjust spring rate and ride height?

Five shocks? One for the spare wheel? :D

Agree on not lowering the car - I actually increased the ride height on my 456 a little as it was impossible to drive it in my speed bump infested city, and there are still a few roads I should not travel at.

Interesting,i had to replace a seal on the front caliper of my 512TR 92-brought the caliper over to the mechanic, he did the change and told me it was not a Brembo caliper( thats what i assumed) ,but an ATE caliper.

The 512TR SPC lists both "Teves" and Brembo calipers. Alfred Teves founded ATE, so it seems reasonable your '92 has ATE (Teves) calipers. Mel also has a '92 so don't know when the change to Brembo occurred. Not a 512TR owner, so only guessing.

I agree with all this except the diff unless you drag race.

Lowering the car will effect your a arm alignment variations designed to change accordingly to all situations by it original design so you will loose in handling from stock.
It is possible however to adjust static alignment for best performance after lowering but it would be different values than stock.
Your rear will be gaining camber at a much higher rate if lowered and not done right so be aware.

If it was mine and you drive fast I would leave it along.......I had a TR and I remember it was right from the factory.....a BB on the other hand needs to be lowered to meet factory specs for proper performance.....but this is another story.

Sorry, but the OEM ride height looks bs.

Lowering makes the testarossa appear MUCH nicer.

Sure, a mono-specchio must be kept fully original - agreed.
