Good question-I was thinking the same thing with mine. Anyone have info on the lowering.

The dealer can lower your car 10-20 mm without changing any parts as part of a four wheel alignment. All late model Ferraris are ride height adjustable within certain limits without fouling up the suspension alignment. Part of any good four wheel alignment is adjusting ride height.

yes, but i wouldnt touch the height because the front overhang is long enough that u scrape the hard plastic piece in front of the wheels even if u are careful.

It seems like to OTO and HGTC are stilling a bit lower. I looked at them side by side.

I have to agree with this. Mine is an OTO, so maybe that makes a difference, but I wouldn't want it any lower for normal driving.

My HGTC is definitely lower than a non-HGTC. I think the ride height is perfect.

Does the dealer have to do this or can you do it yourself on a rack? It would seem like you could adust yourself..Has anyone done this?

Easy to answer question. Do you have all the tools for setting camber and toe in and checking caster and a large selection of shims to set same? Do you know all the torque values for the suspension parts where the shims are inserted and removed? Do you know where to measure ride height and do you have all the suspension alignment specifications?

Four wheel alignments on Ferraris are fiddly exercises where ride height affects camber affects toe-in etc. Personally, I would want to learn with someone who really knew what they were doing before tackling a job that could wear out $400 tires very quickly.

Maybe he will let you watch, although one mechanic I used in the distant past had a sign that said:

    Our Labor Rate: $50/hr
    If you watch $75/hr
    If you help $100/hr

    It was a while ago.

Having the dealer do it in the morning. He said it will take him an hour and is no big deal. he just did a California and has done a few 612's with no issues. They have stated the set up on the shocks allows for these adjustments and is up to the owner.

Digging up an old thread as I'm curious if anyone did this. Pics?

My 612 HGTC needs to go in for the annual soon so I figured I might lower it a bit. The wheel gap has always been a little too big to my eye, especially the front. Can't think of why it would matter, but wondering if I would have any additional issues clearing the 599 wheels I had installed. Also, anyone ever try some small wheel spacers? Guessing lowered plus 10mm or so of spacers will rub.

Mac- Ferraris have huge wheel wells, especially the V12s, 9JX20 and 12.5Jx20 Novitecs fit 612s fine. You should be able to lower slightly and add spacers with no problem. I run 19Jx12.5 wheels on the rear of my Maranello with 25 mm spacers and there is still plenty of room. Your 612 has even larger wheel wells.

Thanks Taz. I'm going to have the dealer play around with this and see what we can get to. As you said, the wheel well looks huge, but I'm a little worried about the fender lip with a spacer.
