I'm just wondering-do most owners lower their cars?

My imaginary 'BEST GT4 IN THE WORLD' (tm) has arrived, but of course I'm in Portland, not back until Monday!

I did mine when I went to 16 inch wheels. You do have to watch out for sleeping policemen more on our roads. Made a difference to handling more planted and better in the corners.

I went with lower springs, you can find rates in my restoration thread. Car sits great now and corners even better at the track.

The front fiberglass skid plate is usually the first thing to touch. Make sure the fuel pump is not too low.

Here is a photo of the car lowered.

    Oh yes...
Had to refashion the bottom of the f'glass spare wheel well and put an ally plate there but the car sits nice and low for the track and is still usable on road
(Race regs required it to clear a 90mm block)

Let me ask, do you have any problems with fender rub when you lower the car like this?

I agree that lowering a GT4 makes it look more sexy.... but that is taking things way too far

I was coming out of a turn or in one... it doesn't sit that low standing still.

No rubbing - I think the pic makes it look lower than it is as I would have been braking/turning in there...

I bought 185lbs for the front and 200 lbs for the back which is slightly stiffer then stock. Also got the length down about 1/2" from stock. I bought the springs from Hypercoil. The inside diameter is 3".

Here is the diagram for spring rates:

I don't think I have ever seen a low-rider 308. Usually American cars with that modification.
