Hi everyone, sorry if this is a revival of an older post, but I would like some opinions and advice.

I have an 08' LP640 that is just mind blowingly brilliant...but this being my first (not last) lambo I am not used to having a slightly muted car at low revs. The car does sound amazing...its very "Screamy" but lacks what I love in an exhaust which is some deep idle and burbling. I also would love to see what is out there on the market that can make this beast sound more deep and agressive but not screechy and high pitched.

Does anyone have any experience? I have seen some videos of the Larini and Kreisig exhausts but they both sound too high pitched making me prefer the stock to what they offer. I also want to keep the stock look and not have the rear pipes changed.

    Any advice? thanks again!

    MJ

I've always liked the Bartoli system on the 640:

    Cheap too at ~1800 euro!

Capristo is very raspy (and LOUD!). Larini also sound beautiful to me, perhaps the louder ones are of cars with the cats removed...

Btw your 640 is beautiful. White + black wheels is one of the best on the 640! Have you got the Hermera or Hercules wheels?

Sounds like you are looking for more of a V8 rumble. Not sure that is possible with a V12?? Fuel injection over carb's doesn't help the cause either.

Thanks for the help and video posted Bas.

Not exactly a V8 rumble...my 612 had one of the best sounding exhausts I have ever heard...and it was the factory sports pack on my 2009 OTO.

I just dont want a light sound on idle that clanks and makes a cheap sounding metallic noise but rather a deeper rich sound....the rest...I want the high end screeeeeeeem!

    :)

I love this car. Rims are hermeera....amazing.

I am getting my calipers changed to yellow and am going to alter the rims back to silver...I dont know why but am just not a fan of black rims...just my taste.

thanks guys and please keep sending me your notes and exhaust opinions.

I had an 07 LP640 and my dealer plugged the exhaust valves (which quieten the car at low revs). It cost nothing (15 minutes work) and the car suddenly had a deep idle and a lovely low rev note that was missing before. At higher revs it sounded stock. I was very happy with the new noise. I highly recommend this mod.

My 2009 LP640 had a Larini exhaust and I had the valves permanently open. I loved the sound of it (do not have the car anymore, unfortunately). But as was said earlier, it will be hard to get a V8 rumble from a highly strung V12. The Larini produced magical noise at full throttle shifts!

I must say, however, the Bartoli (video in a previous post) sounds awesome at high revs! Probably better than my Larini did!

Try the suggestion to plug the valves first...you might be pleasantly surprised with the results.

Larini, Kressigg, Tubi all seem to sound very similiar on the 640.

MS Racing Stage II gives more of a F1 sound which is primarily what you'll achieve from any exhasut change on the 640.

There are a couple of independents out there making their own version of exhaust systems for the 640, all of which are functional and create a unique sound.

The 640 has a definate different sound than the 5.7 Diablo and even the 6.2 Murcie.

If you want a "rumble", the sugestion to plug the valves as suggested will be your most cost effective way to sample a sound.

Bartoli has the best sounding exhaust on the 640 IMO. Rich, sophisticated and an absolute screamer up top. The Kreisegg does a very similar job, but I find the sound is a bit unrefined, especially as the revs drop.

    +1

Kreissieg is also ridiculously expensive, almost 10x the cost of bartoli...

for me, MS Racing all the way...amazing scream...with their exhaust the V12 Lambo sounds waaaay more 'F1' than any Ferrari...kinda ironic...

I have LOC on my 6.2 Murci, it deletes the secondary cats and muffler.

Personally, if I was purchasing an exhaust, I would go with the new Titek/SP Engineering full titanium exhaust. Very light weight and much better material than LOC. Oh, and the design allows for some great noise.
