I am looking for pictures of the original window glass markings on a LP400. Any help is highly appreciated. Dani Image Unavailable, Please Login
Can't help with that today Dani, but, in case this is helpful, by the advent of the Downdraft, here is what was in use, for comparison (courtesy of John B). Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you Joe, I guess the 4 means the year of production 1984. Or in the case of an exchange of the glass the year 1994 or 2004 ... In my case that would mean 76, 86, 96 ... Any opinions?
Here is another reference point, using Saint Gobain glass (like the LP400), our 1985-build Ferrari 288 GTO Image Unavailable, Please Login
Makes sense. The car was build 1985, glass code 4 so the glass was produced 1984 and installed in 1985. Next week I will check my other windows. I will let you know.
Just took this pic off of my 1981 S2... 1981 Lamborghini Countach LP400S Series 2 Low Body Lynnwood WA 15427207 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Makes sense. The car was build 1981, glass code 0 so the glass was produced 1980 and installed in 1981.
Maybe. To be sure we will need some more samples. Additonally I think that the sole letter is representing the month of production.
Here a pic of my 85 DD. The glass code is 4. Makes sense. Anybody knows about a LP400 with a 6, 7 or 8 on the glass? Any glass code pictures or just information about LP400 or early LP400S? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Makes sense. The car was build 1977, glass code 6 so the glass was produced 1976 and installed in 1977.
Anybody on this forum with access to a 1978 LP400 or 1979 LP400/LP400S. Would be great if you could publish the 1 digit number and the year of production of the car. I try to find out if Lamborghini was also installing window glass produced in the years 1977 1978 and 1979 (7, 8 and 9). This might be an evidence for judging the authenticity of a car.
