Looks like its a bunch of photos of the same car over the period of 5 years, gold wheels, silver wheels, the SS badges infront of the designed by... badge and black seat covers. weird and why did he go with the Vitaloni Tornados mirrors over the stock ones? werent they also Vitaloni mirrors to begin with
Steve: I'm not sure if "beautiful" is the word that springs to mind in its current guise, but, nonetheless, it is a Countach, an LP400 no less, chassis number 1120262, a car built by the factory in right-hand-drive guise for the singer. Here below are some pics of it in 1978 in Beverly Hills/California, Rod behind the wheel, after a game of soccer. It was California-registered "RIVA 1". Here is 1120262 imaged 5 years later on April 1st 1983, being exited by Rod Stewart himself (!), seen outside The Record Plant, Los Angeles. By now, as you can see, Mardikian has cut the roof off, molded some spats on, thrown a set of Bravos on the car, and before you know it a sublime LP400 has been transformed into a chopped LP400S S1 of sorts. You can tell from this photo showing the inadequate rear wheel offset that the rear suspension is still the wishbone setup and not full parallel links, so the effect is for cosmetic pleasure only. Rear wing is mounted, and NACA duct is satin black. Anyway, thought you'd enjoy these early images. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Markadian? arent they the same guys who did the Miami Vice cars? and yeah I kinda agree I liked it better in its original form but theres still plenty out there in their original form so its not too big of a deal, although it WAS one of the periscope cars damn it.
Great info thanks Joe I must say I prefer the Countach in its original guise without the arches and wing.
