hi i have a 348 and the fuse which supplys the heater controls keeps blowing i believe one of the motors is sticky, this fuse is located behind the boot liner but i cannot find in the book what size the fuse should be, it has a 15amp fitted but with a 20amp works ok but i do not want to leave this in until i know what the correct size should be. does anyone know thanks lee.

According to the factory wiring diagram, the correct fuse is a 30amp. Many people (myself included) have upgraded the fuse holder for this circuit to a large glass unit with gold-plated contacts, as used with stereo amplifiers. These have vastly greater contact area between the fuse and the holder, and reduce the temperature caused by the electrical draw in the circuit. The original fuse holders have a tendancy to melt.

I don't believe the owners handbook mentions this fuse at all, but it's shown on wiring diagram figure 8, item 69.

many thanks for the info i will upgrade as you have said, i have a 348 tb 1993 in red with tan interior mint condition and have had this for nearly a year now, and can say i`m very happy with it. i have always been a porsche man and decided to go for a 348 entry level to see how its goes, this allows me to have both. really like the drive and feed back from the steering. many thanks
