I find my gear shaft feels a tad sticky, and squeaks a bit when I shift (not just the normal clanging against the gates) particularly when not really warm. Anything wrong with shooting some WD40 down into the into the assembly? It looks just a wee bit skenky in there anyhow. Any easy way to clean and lube it?

    Hey Mike,
Mine was feeling sticky and sqeaking before we repaired it. If I remember correctly there is a spring and a couple of plastic 'pucks' down in there which eventually wear out. This is an easy fix (and very cheap for once), and Daniel is sure to have the parts. The only downside is that you have to get underneath and pull off the undertray to get at the box that houses the shifter. You work from the top and bottom. Others with more knowledge on here are sure to offer advice and guide you through it.
