I built this 3500 GTI engine and I wanted acute control of the injection during break in specifically. So I installed a wide band O2 sensor in the header so I could read AFR while driving under load. Further, I wanted to be able to adjust the injection on the fly so I could get the AFR I wanted during breakin. Fabricated a housing replacement for the altitude compensation plunger on the Lucas fuel distributor and then used a remote brake bias adjuster to control the AFR from the cockpit. Works really well. Amazingly accurate injection.

OK I'll bite, what does AFR stand for?
What you have done is very interesting.
Is it the case you are able to adjust the fuel air mixture on the fly?
So you are able to lean or richen the mixture at will?

I assume AFR means Air Fuel Ratio.

Clever stuff, but a small nit pick if I may; that first hose clip on the green hose needs to be upside down like the other one. Would IMO look a lot cleaner.

BTW I assume this is a temporary thing while the engine is bedded in?

Yea all temporary until the engine fully sorted. Yes AFR is air fuel ratio.
