Does anyone know where I might find a set of luggage for my 84/BBi?
You'll struggle to find original Schedoni unless you want to pay a fortune through the Owners Site - these people in England may be able to help with equivalent fitted cases http://www.tofh.com/ferrari.htm
I found a set for my BB512i by posting a Boxer Luggage Wanted ad in the Ferrari Market Letter. I received several reponses and bought a set with the BB512i logo for $1000.00...it was brand new, never used in the original felt bags...it was even packed with 1982 Italian newspapers...
Keep an eye on eBay...do a search here...there are old threads. There was a set that was real Schedoni, but lacked the "512BBi" logo.......good luck! I have mine for my 308GTB, it is well worth finding!
Send Pascal an email. If you need Ferrari luggage, he's your guy. He found my set and has found a set for another Boxer owner. Just tell him I sent you. Mine has the "BB512i" logo...I've never seen luggage with a "512BBi" logo...did Schedoni make that for replica Boxers? LoL...
Remember the posting of the really low-mile silver-blue Testarossa that had the matched set of factory luggage? Did anybody actually settle the issue of whether this luggage really cost about $25,000 or so when factory ordered? This seems so insane to me that it makes my brain hurt. For that matter, what difference does it make what kind of fitted luggage you have, just so long as it is well crafted and in good taste? Or, does that just make me a neanderthal?
Yes, Mr. Parker....THAT logo.....LOL! The ebay ad 6 pc. for the TR quotes it as $10K option...........when new....
WOW! When I bought a like new set in the early 90s for my former TR I believe I paid $2k. I also found that set by running a TR Luggage Wanted ad in the Ferrari Market Letter. And, if you've ever seen the Schodoni luggage, its not that great...while the leather is very nice, the interior is not even as plush as Tumi, French or even Samsonite...which are a lot less expensive.
It must be in the keyfobs, then....... I pulled that $10K number from eBay....you can ALWAYS believe eBay, right? Right? Anyone???????? LOL!
