You trying to hide your lust for women is like Kerry trying to hide his wealth on his tax returns. Come on ;) :D I should be in your neck of the woods May 25-June1st. :)

Speedy308.....Wow...I am honored. Don't get me started again, I've gone back there several times since (grandfather's in a hospital) and I get angrier every time. When faced with discussions with people there, I politely remind them that I am still a German citizen and therefore AM qualified to state my opinion :). And now, I am looking forward to escaping to the track in the challenge car (Obligatory Ferrari Content).

    Cheers,

LMAO! Man you crack me up. :D

Come out to SF, I will show you some northern European women, particularly Swedish women. They are usually between 19-24 and are here for about a year, and LOVE American men ;) Usually about 5'1", 102#s, VERY fit, blonde hair, blue eyes. Weather here is about 81 degrees, so many beautiful women out here.

Isn't it weird how grass is greener on the other side? I prefer the Dallas/Tx women, and you prefer the LA/Cali type women. I guess we always want what we can't have.

*runs away before NNO comes here and starts bashing me for being politically correct and objectifying women*

    Oh the horror! :D

Well, like the Ferrari "which is Best?" argument, beauty is also in all shapes, colors, and descriptions!

I lived in Dallas for a while. Alone during that part of my life, fun but shallow.
There was this farm girl out by Lake Lavon.......

I was thrown off a construction job on a 75 story tower downtown, good thing I was in the basement restaurant, at the time. My employer transferred me back to Houston, kinda quickly!!!

    Not too many posts here...
Does this make me a lurker? As many stated before me, I prefer to read if I think that there is no added value in me posting. A lot of people in this forum are FAR more knowledgeable than I am on these subjects so I prefer not to... interfere.
In addition to that, being from Europe, a lot of thread are conceived in such a way that it is difficult for me to interact (i.e. dealers, cars in US spec, specific US problems etc.).
Even language is sometime a problem. By the way... I will keep reading and, should I think to be able to add value, I will post.
    Thanks for the shared knowledge

    Ciao

I've been lurking on here for a while now as (along with everyone else here I guess) I've long had a lust for an F-car.
Last year i was selling a house, and I decided that once sold I'd buy a car, but was fairly un-decided about which model. Originally decided on 550, but now decided Daytona - been fairly fickle in the past, but decided now and have even looked at a number of examples. Only problem now is that I live in Central London and only have a single garage which just about houses my Caterham track car, trailer, spare wheels / slicks...etc, so need to find another garage before I pull the trigger.

Just one question - Daytona; plexiglass or pop-up lights; answers on a postcard.....maybe I should figure out how to post a poll.

I guess a serious answer would be a number of posts divided by period of time. This way we could build a Post-o-meter, which reads from zero (Lurker) to 100% (post whore).
    :)

However I was just stunned going through the members list and seeing all these people with zero posts.

Hmm Karts..never been in one of those..you will have to show me. :) Yes beauty is in all shapes/colors I agree. I like the Cs and Ds..so send those my way ;) :D I have no experience with Dallas women except for the airport. LMAO. I noticed more voluptous women at Dallas, more blonde and busty type, whereas in NY it was more the brunette, petite kind. In cali, there are all kinds, except the ones I like. LOL.

I am sure we have scared away the lurkers by now.

    Speedy,
    Thanks for the advice.
One of the reasons I've not posted much before is that I'm not sure how long it is going to take to find the right car and when I'll actually purchase, and I wouldn't want anyone to think I was doing a "Steve275" !!!!!!

Hopefully by the end of the summer I'll be able to post some pics /serial no.

I try to post, much to my dismay, I have had only one ride in one of these beautiful cars since I was 12 or so and originally fell in love. I got to ride in a Testarossa, and was instantly in love. I still have a few years before I can own a Ferrari of my own, but I love reading. I was hoping to meet up with some of you guys at the New York Auto Show, but there were no takers. I can't help but lurk, and hope to someday be able to share my experiences as well.

Interesting how modest and humble you guys are who explain your reasons for not posting. I can understand and only encourage you to post more.

Au contraire we have some folks who jump at a bone like "Should I add S/F badges to my <insert Ferrari model here>?". No shortage in answer on those quests.

So it appears to me that there are two groups of newbies: The loud ones and the shy ones. Maybe some of you should step out of the shade.

    Hey guys..gals!!

Well, I use to be a lurker. I think I found this sight about 2 years ago and have been following it ever since. I found interest in the sight because I wanted to figure out what owning a ferrari (dream) would end up costing me and what I could and could not do to the car myself mechanicaly. Like alot of people on this sight I know enough to work on my own cars but not enough to keep me out of trouble and a Ferrari can end up being a lot of trouble$$$$ if you don't watch it. Even someone who knows nothing about cars knows that a Ferrari is exspensive. All of the threads that I have read on this sight have saved me thousands in both the purchase of my car (308 gtsi 83) and maitenence bills. Frankly there is no way I could have bought my car with out the help of this board. I just finished a 30000 mile service on my car, replaced many other small items, and cleaned the engine bay while I was in there for about 800 bucks in parts. I would hate to see that bill from a ferrari mechanic. Even if I had the money I just like working on my own cars if I can.

Once I purchased my car in Nov. I started asking questions and everyone has been fantastic. Thanks to everyone!!

    Bill

A lot of people probably sign up so they can see pics (especially if it's linked from a different site.) And, I agree, it takes several months to get a sense of the place. But, don't be shy!

    Well, guilty.

I signed up in 2002, I'm pretty sure I got the link from Tom Yang's site. I look through the site at least once a day.

Like others have said, I'm pretty quiet, as there are others that know far more than me. I love learning about the quirks of the cars and what people's experiences are as owners. I also like hearing perspectives of others on buisness & investments, cars in general, and anything "off topic". There are some smart people here.

I hope to pick up a 330 GT at some point. Until then, yeah, I like to watch. :D
