The push button that closes the trunk of my V12 Lusso stopped working. Dealer said the power lift gate ECU is fried, probably from a water bottle that was not fully closed in the trunk and leaked down.

$2,800 to replace the part (shipped from Italy), installed.

I found the part online for a few hundred bucks. Anyone know if you need to do anything on the software side to replace?
If not, I can have my local indie guys handle. But if they need to be able to tap into the Ferrari software, it’s much harder.

    thanks

Im pretty sure it will be plug and play. I would definitely try and replace it by myself first.

Thanks, that's my plan so far. $2,800 is a lot for this... appreciate the reply.

How did this repair play out? Plug and play?

Part arrives next week! I disassembled the trunk. Took forever, almost 6 whole minutes (wipes brow…).

The ECU is easily accessible under a foam insulation barrier.

    Will update once in!

    this could be a good $2,500 save…

UPDATE: it worked! Easy install. A bit of a challenge with a couple bolts in tight quarters but no big deal. 7 screws total to break down the trunk. A foam cover protects the parts, so you flip that to the side. Two nuts hold the ECU box in place. Easily slides out. Pop new one in. Put it all back together. Push the button and BOOM! We have liftoff (or, lift down).

    Quote from dealer: $2,800

total cost to do myself: $440
