My friend of more than 30 years Lux Interior of the band The Cramps died today at age 62. I saw photos of this band in Rock Scene magazine and went to Max's to check them out. They were everything I thought a band should be. Lux was one of the nicest guys I have known. He had a lot of ups and downs over the last 30 years but had a great woman by his side though all of it. One of my best memories was having them over to my house in Arlington VA when I gave Ivy the guitar I made for her. We went to an Indian resturant then went shopping at Falls Camera for some vintage camera equipment. Lux bought about $300 worth of vintage camera stuff and Ivy just rolled her eyes. Lux was a true rock and roll visionary that made Rock and Roll rock at a time when rock was dying. I can not imagen a world with out The Cramps. Lux Rest in Peac, Ivy my prayers ar with you at this time.

I'm sorry to hear that. Me and my friend used to listen to their music a lot in high school.

I just watched the video.... i wonder if the Jetson's song "Eep, Opp, Ork, Ah-ah" is based on the Cramps song "Whoo Hee Ha Ha"

I thought the same when I heard it too! I think he would of done a great job in playing a gig with Buddy Guy, BB King or Jeff beck.

Jestons song was way before The Cramps. 1962 I think the guy that did the song was Hoyt Curtin. The Cramps did one of the best versions of Surfin Bird

They will be sorely missed... true pioneers in music. Called a few friends today to break the sad news.
I've been surfin' lately looking to see if they were ever going back on tour... now I know why not.
I probably saw them 6 times over the years... always a GREAT SHOW!
I think that is awesome you knew Lux... I'm sure he was a hoot.
As a matter of fact, I had my "office" painted last month, and came across some old concert tix subs (I go to a lot of shows and keep 'em all - nice little packets of memories) and found :
Cramps at the Chicago Metro 6/13/96
    Cramps @ HOB Chicago 11/23/97

    THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES LUX!
and remember.... don't eat stuff off the sidewalk!
