    Hate 'em!

The Hermes, LV, ferragamo, even Brioni belts look ghetto to me.

Buy a high quality belt, but not one that is emblazoned with such large logos that people across the street can tell the brand.

Hell, buy a low quality one from a department store. It's a strip of leather to hold your pants up....

Giorgio's of Palm Beach. Horrible website and no catalog so you have to go to Worth Ave in person but some of the best crocodile belts I've ever had and the buckles are nice without being over the top. I've had a few of them for years now and they have held up very well. Also check out Zilli, they have a new boutique in NYC.

I agree. All of mine are AE and they hold up extremely well. The leather keeps supple, edges dont fray and the stitching holds. Plus they come with a great belt box for your drawer/shelf

I have several vintage Gucci belts... they are vintage now because I bought them both in the 80's.. I think they are tastefull and have lasted for ever!

Some of the newer Hermes, and Gucci belts are a bit much, but you can still find tastefull ones... I find the leather last's for ever with little care. I'm alwasy for quality over quantity.

I good Gucci black / brown reversible belt is something you can wear every day - busienss or pleasure.

Same as luxury other pieces of clothing. If others know the brand just by looking at you, you're trying too hard. If only you then, then you obviously have the money to spend. Med/low priced are of decent quality, but the luxury ones are there for the brand appeal.

I like how you can buy "ed hardy" lighters at gas stations now, for the distinctive smokers....

I know this is a dead thread now, but the best belt I have ever bought is from Trafalgar, and i think its made in US. Three or four years of wear and it looks and feels perfect.
More costly than a department store belt, but worth it to me.

Not fancy by any means but if you want a tough belt, if you hang stuff on your belt, if you carry a gun, check out thebeltman.net I have a horsehide and bullhide and they have held up really well. He has elephant too.
