Just saw the movie last night, that is a movie worth my nine dollars, Movies have been sucking since Batman last year........this is a good change of the mundane.......... Highly reccommend it, Philip Seymor Hoffman is one great bad guy....... P.S. keep this about the movie and not Tom bashing.......
Saw it last night as well. What a movie! I cant even remember the last time I went to the movies... because everything has been total ****! MI: III was a nice change of pace- well worth seeing!
I saw it the other night as well. I have to admit, I was a little worried about J.J. Abrams directing it since it is his first movie, but it was a great movie. The action never stopped.
I am definitely looking forward to this tonight. Now I just have to convince my wife to come along. There are rumours that Philip Seymour Hoffman has been approached to play the Penguin in the next Batman movie; after seeing the range of his ability and personality, I hope that it's true. - Chris
Awesome movie, way better than Mission Impossible II. The action was great and the stunts were insane. If only Tom Cruise wasn't such an ass in real life. I have to say though, poor Gallardo...
Did you not see Munich? That was a great movie. Didnt get to see it, g/f through a hissy fit in the parking lot cause she didnt want to go and i gave in and didnt go. Im a ***** .
Why oh why did that have to blow up the Gallardo!?!? I really liked the scene on the bridge. Philip Seymour Hoffman was a great villan. Over-all the movie was really good. Lightyears better than MI:2
My wife and I just got back from the movie. She went into it only as a favor to me because I wanted to see it. Four hours ago, she hated Tom Cruise and the idea of seeing MI3. Now? Her favorite movie. As for me, I thought it really was a perfect balance between the thick mystery of the first one and the over the top action of the second. I hope they don't wait another 6 years. - Chris
Drop her now! Seriously, dont put up with that. Anyways, great (action) movie. I liked the new Batman too though, so take it for what its worth. And I also like Tom Cruise, despite the recent trend to hate him and call him crazy.
It's better than the MI:II for sure. But I don't think it's better than the 1st one. Here in Thailand, many think that Mr.Hunt has too many toys this time and rely less on his skill as a spy. I tend to agree. But it's still light year ahead of flaky 007. There is also a comparison between 007, Mr.Hunt, and Jason Bourne. Most people go for Bourne as their fav spy movies. And this, I have to agree. MI:III has a few weak points. How the heck do they get the baseball firing machine up the building so quick (unless that building has the baseball pit uop top, which is possible??). I don't know how high they fly, but Mr.Hunt opening the rear hatch to interogate the bad guy wasn't the brightest idea, but works in the movie. And a few other things, but that doesn't stop the movie from being a very good way to spend 2:15 minutes (we have commercials before showing the movie in Thailand) Now, to the point that I like.... the bridge scene is one of the most exciting scene. I like the fact that the movie don't show how Mr.Hunt obtain the rabbit foot, but instead concentrate on him jumping off the building. That makes the parachuting scene that much more memorable (the guy is gonna get the rabbit foot anyway, we all know it). MI:III, to me, has the right mix of action and mystery to keep us glued to the seat, but not enough that I can't go to the bath room....that's good for me, really. All in all, a good afternoon for me and my wife. But...I can't wait for X-men.
I thought it was a good movie. It had some slow moments in it, but towards the end it started to pick up. It was much better then MI:II for sure!
A Gallardo is only worth about $150k used. It could have also been a salvage or a lemon car, which wouldn't make it as much of a loss. Besides, Gallardo owners need the break of having more cars totalled seeing as how their cars are losing value.
IMDB says the car was only a shell made for the movie. For military people some of the fights will stink as they did not fight the way super agents would. On the bridge for exp, the weapon he about gets killed to get from the truck is a German military service rifle, just like the US's M-16. Why would it even be in a case and in pieces is ludicrous. Also, the snipers in the helo can see Hunt building it, but instead of just shooting him or at least at him, the send the drone to shoot a missile. (????) Also, if PSH is such a bad guy, the agents would not have stopped to give first aide to the civilians, they would have stood their ground with the prisoner and fought it out waiting for back up from the locals. General engagement rules are you press on despite causalities until the objective is secured. Otherwise you would never get anywhere as one casuality will suck up two other people to care for them. You press on and then you go back for the wounded.
I saw it the second night it came out and I LOVED it. Great movie, great action and everything. The Gcar sure sounded great, good to know they only blew up a shell. And yes... I can't wait for X3 either!
