With all respect, I’m not sure if it is a great article. It’s a short summary of the different M models written from a company publicity point of view. A great article would have asked questions like what the common thread is between the M models (from barely anything with a 456 to quite a lot with 550/575 and so on) and also addressed questions about why some purists prefer the pre=M versions of these, as well as the TR/M and so on.

it’s not really an article so much as a brochure summary. Even a company magazine should produce articles that address topics informed readers want to read, Ferrari owners are a knowledgeable bunch.

a really great article would have asked whether the development effort to create the F512M, for example, with changed suspension, engine internals and rear, was really necessary and whether instead the engine couldn’t just have been hot rodded a bit more and everything else left alone.

and what really happened when the 550 turned into the very early, pre FHP 575Ms which were criticised for porpoising, and why?

and why even bother doing a M version of the 456 with just a couple of extra hp?

    and so on..

the truth is only to be found here, buried in various forums.

You certainly have a point. Hard-hitting it is not! I still enjoyed it notheless.

    Cheers
