German Bild (not the most reliable source) speculates, that MS is talking to Haug about a potential future with McLaren and Merces after his Ferrari contract expires at the end of 2006.

    MS:
"I don't even want to comment on (the) rumours," the seven time world champion - whose Maranello contract runs out at the end of next year - told his website. Everyone knows how closely linked Ferrari and I are."
    f1racing.net

Even if he talked to Norbert Haug so what...
Maybe MS wants to fight Hakkinen in DTM? I can't see MS switching to McLaren.

Apparently MS "laughed off Mercedes Rumors" but it would be something to see Kimi and Schumi in the same equipment.

Then again why would Norbert Haug and Willi Weber are having meetings anyway, just to talk about life in general?

The conversation was regarding the future of formula one and not MS joining McCrap!

    Michael would never leave Ferrari!

Haug and Michael have been close friends, so nothing special.

However he has talked to Haug in Hungary and in Turkey behind closed doors and both refused to comment.

Also as we all know the dream team is about to quit at Ferrari at the end of 2006.

Maybe he will do a seat swap with Kimi?

I was wondering how long it would take for this thread to start. Much longer than i thought :D

Word bouncing about is that MS wants to win one more WDC and McL has the best car by far and he wants to do it for Mercedes who gave him the start into racing and he and Haug are good German buds.

So put the pieces of the puzzle together.... Nothing like a good rumor between race weekends heh ?

Ah, good point. I forgot to mention: Mr. 20% was involved in this as well, which makes things really interesting.

Mercedes always wanted Michael to drive for them. After all it was with them and Sauber where he cut his teeth.

It's the "silly" part of the season. The only place where Michael's going after SFM is "On Golden Pond."

Absolutely. The fallout from the Turkish GP was over way too fast.

Ron trading away a future champion(Raikkonen) for Schumi. Hmm...

You expect JPM to still be in F1 in 2007?

I doubt that will happen. Michael has way to close of a relationship with Ferrari....

    A battle!!!! Hahahaha

Michael would destroy Montoya. It would be easier than stealing candy from a child.

How soon people forget Brazil and Austria 2001. While MS likely would win, it would still be interesting. MS doesn't like quick teammates.........:)

LOL !! Good one. From the movie Office Space: 'he's an assclown'

Ya think so, huh ? He, Norbie, Merc and let's not forget all 3 are German and go back way farther than Ferrari. IIRC didn't Merc try to pry MS from Ferrari not too long ago ?

I dont care who he drives for, just hope he goes out on a winning note, not a whimper like this season.

He may have a good relationship with Ferrari, but people said the same when he was with Renault.

And as for JPM. MS was winning races with the second or third best car in F1. JPM can't even win with the best car in F1 (remember how good the Williams was?, and look what Kimmi's doing with the McClaren now).

That was in 1999 I think.
Ron Dennis wasn't willing to give Schumacher the NO .1 status he wanted.(rumors)
Also it would take too much of his budget. I can't quote Ron on this one. It's just something I heard.

Yuo obviously have never tried stealing candy from my children! Makes 7 world championships look veeery easy in comparison!! ;)

I think it is very unlikely that Michael will ever drive for another team. If it did happen I would be disappointed, but I'd get over it. I'd still cheer for whoever was in the red car!

You will see that Rossi turns up.
You don't think that they want one of "their own" as a world champ ?
You think all these test rides are some favour ?

    Don't hit me know please..

I agree that there is something up the Rossi sleeve, they pay an aweful lot of attention to him. And, for those that call PR stunt... does Rossi or Ferrari really need more PR?...

I think it would be awesome if MS went to McLaren, I'd give him huge props b/c that would be a real ballsy move on his part. I don't see why KR would be a write off though. Seems to me a MS/KR combo would bring back some Senna Prost memories, maybe even another 1988. McL can definitely afford both of them for a few seasons, so why ditch KR?

I could see Ron Dennis wanting a talented driver but wouldn't MS want control over more than what Ron would want to give him? I can't see MS coming into a team as a "hired gun." Also, his style is not very similar to the types of drivers McLaren has had with DC, MH, KR, and to a degree, JPM. We have never seen much of MS as a loser and quite frankly this year he is starting to show some ugliness. Does Ron want to pay the highest salary in F1 for someone who might not gel with the team AND who is on his way out of F1?
