this morning my car started to run on 4 cilinders. 1-4 went out. did a compression test and all OK sparks on all spark plugs. but not of the 1-4 injectors got a pulse from the 5.2 ECU. checked the cableloom and that is fine too so to me it has to be in the ECU itself. is there anybody around Monaco with a 5.2 from which I could borrow an ECU to do a quick definitive check?
0 Codes. No Slow down light Cables are all OK and I checked them again. same symptom with cold start. Indeed tonight I will first swap the two Cat temp boxes to see if the problem moves to the other side. Does anybody know what kind of signals the TCU are giving to the Engine ECU?
As noted above, you are looking for around 1.5v on the TCU output. I am having the same problem on my F355, and I am unsure what the cause is at the moment. I hope that you are able to sort it out, I am suspecting an ECU failure on my end at the moment, but I sincerely hope that is not the case. To say that it is pissing me off is an understatement. Mark
just disconnected both TCUs - same problem changed TCUs from from left to right - same problem no engine check light, no codes. car is going to the dealer tomorrow as they might be able to pull more codes than me with my obd2 scanner
Sometimes the codes take afew minutes to come on. It definately sounds like a cat sdecu problem. Cant say for the euro but usa cars if sdecu is disconnected will give solid sdl and shutoff bank. What year car? Do as you said and change the sd ecu it will likely shutdown the opposite bank.
Problem resolved this morning. went to Ferrari dealer to hook it up to SD2. A reset via SD2 made the car running as normal again. No codes or reason why could be retrieved.
Does it mean that you could have just disconnected the battery for a while? Modern car electronics seem to be much like computers - most problems can be resolved by "unplug and plug in again" (shut down and restart).
no, I had the power of for more than 6 hours. you can't reset the ECU yourself like you can do with the SD2. Kind of a hard reset.
With the F355, the SDL condition requires a reset command sent over the OBD2 computer port. You can send this command even if there is no CEL and it will reset your SDL condition and clears the light.
