Filling up for gas in Leadville. As I pulled away from the pumps I heard a bunch manic horn honking. I turned to see three Mclarens pulling into the gas station. All coupes. I have never seen one in person so I got out of the 458 Spider and greeted them.

A white, a black and a metallic (metal flake) orange. It looks yellow in the pics. Trust me it was orange.

In the 2nd pic you can see the 458 to the right in the sun.

Turns out they are from Miami and can talk Spanish as well as English. They spent 2 nights in Aspen at the St. Regis and were heading to Vail. They were very taken with the 458 Spider and took lots of pictures.

It was a beautiful day. You just never know what delights await you on a road trip with an Fcar. ;)

I can't tell, but does the white McLaren say "MP4-12C RS" on the rear?

Great Pics! Thanks. Does the bumper say HS?

All three have McLaren's Special Operations front bumper. Quite a rare site.

    Leadville ?!

Good God ---- that must have blown the minds of any resident who saw those cars !

It is a great drive from Leadville to Minturn --- nice road for a sports car. So, it makes sense they would hop over for a spin on their way to Vail --- I'm sure they had a blast :)

How does the 458 run at 12,000ft ?

Ran into a guy at a gas station in Fairplay who had seen the three Macs. Said they had the cars shipped out just so they could drive in the Colorado mountains. Gotta love that!

Not many curvy roads around Miami. LOL
Just lots of bugs especially at night.

Which reminds me of the time I drove thru Everglades Natl Park and went over Panther Pass elev 3 ft above sea level...so the sign said. :D
