    Hi All,

A very good customer of ours had us build this wheel for his 355 last year. Due to some family health issues, he sold the car, and just had the wheel sitting in his garage. Things are back to normal and he's now bought a McLaren 12C. He decided to clean out the garage and he sent it to us, along with a brand new airbag he had purchased - his airbag leather had bubbled. He emailed this morning to say he just wanted to move both.

We normally don't stock wheels since every customer wants something different. We once did a 360CS wheel for inventory and wound up sitting on it for 18 months as every customer wanted something - other than what we had. And since he's a good customer, we're helping him move it along.

Anyway, this is a great wheel - for a yellow car or a car with yellow stitching. Its our thick style with carbon top, perforated grips, and a suede bottom. The hub is in black leather with yellow stitching as well. This would look amazing in a '99 Fiorano or any car with a carbon interior.

To redo it with new stitching or a new ring, it would be better of to start fresh.

Best part is that he just wants to move it. We've put a no-reserve auction on eBay opening at $1399. $400 of that is a deposit that will be refunded if you send back your old wheel. So a super sweet wheel with a BRAND NEW airbag for possibly $999. Buy it now is set at $2500. But I'm sure our guy may be open to offers. PM me if interested.

Here is the listing on eBay: Ferrari 355 Steering Wheel Macarbon Custom with Airbag | eBay

Here is a link to the wheel itself on our website: Ferrari 355 Suede with Yellow Stitching

I like it but if I was gonna change the wheel it would be for the 360 steering wheel.

You don't need one until you need one, and then you really need one. Sell it if you don't want it as a spare.

I guess my other question would be....if they are selling this for a customer who already purchsed this a while ago...why would I need to send my steering wheel in as a core? Hasn't the previous purchaser already completed that part of the transaction?

They are buying the core to use on another wheel. If you don't want to part with it and have a need for a second, keep it and pass on the $400....

Thanks for all the questions guys.

First, changing to a 360 wheel used to be popular. However, a 360 airbag is $2500 if you can get one. Add another $1 - 1.5K on for a wheel if you can find one that's not off a crashed car. ( The 360 wheel deforms easily in a crash btw so I don't recommend used ones from recyclers.) So going that direction is a lot more money.

Sorry no red. It would probably be an easier sell than yellow. But the 360CS wheel we sat on was red stripe, red stitching.... and we sold four CS wheels with other combos while we had that one in stock.

At the time, the customer had sent us back another wheel he had picked up on ebay. The hub had peeled off the arms. We couldn't use it. He's a good customer so we ate it. When the customer asked us to sell the custom wheel, I raised the issue of the bad core. So we're doing it exchange. But if you want to keep your old wheel its fine.

This bag looks to be brand new. I don't see a date on it though. The leather is perfect. As someone else said, either you could replace your existing airbag or sell it on its own.

We really have no ulterior motives here. We're just assisting a good customer with clearing his garage. Its a sweet deal for someone with a yellow car. Honestly, we get offered a lot of sweet deals but if we took them all, we'd turn into "MAspareparts". Which is not what we do. So we're ebaying it for him.

So if you have a yellow 355, I'd highly recommend bidding on the auction. Or PM me with an offer that I can take to the customer.

    Thanks!

Ditto on that remark. But I just can't see spending money on a 355 wheel when the 360 wheel looks so much better in the 355. There will be quite a few 360 wheels coming available in the future as they made almost twice as many 360s than 355s. Nice job on the wheel John.

Yea! Mine now. :) Merry Christmass to me and the 355. My wife is going to cut off my left nut for this but oh well, I wasn't using it anyway.

Looks like the perfect wheel for a Fiorano 355 spider - since it came with carbon fiber parts from the factory.

    Nice looking.
