http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/05/24/on-mad-men-a-clawed-cure-for-don-drapers-waning-mojo/?ref=automobiles Mad Men episode featured a neat showroom scene, with the E-Type playing a prominent role. Too bad Jaguar doesn't make cars that cool anymore.

I notice that car's been seriously lowered. Who lowers E Types? They're a very complicated car to lower.
fitted stiffer and lower rear springs, was running 60 profile r series tyres now back to Avon 70 profile R series and running thicker torsion bars also run a re action plate which enables her to be lowered on an allan Key. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Some clips from the show - I don't watch it, but the red car is a virtual clone of mine: http://jalopnik.com/5912119/don-draper-drunk-drives-an-xke-the-jaguars-of-mad-men/gallery/1 Awesome!
thankyou,I've owned a lot of nice cars, but always go back to this car. In fact I prefered it to a BB512 carb I had.
I've owned 19 of the little buggers. I have a series 2 roadster now and hopefully someone won't come shaking a check at me. Every time I get one just the way I want it some yo yo comes along with a check in his hand willing to pay. I wish I had a way to get folks that excited about a product 40 years AFTER it went out of production! Never seen anything like it.
Nothing in the past 40 years has been quite as cool. I've seen hundreds of them, and every time I see another one it knocks me for a loop. And I'm guessing the new Jag storyline in Mad Men won't hurt prices or popularity.
That black one bothers the heck out of me. I can see I'm not over them. I love the series one look the most.
Ta,its high spec monster, running 15 by 7 wires, alloy shockers, close ratio Gertrag gearbox and injection, but apart from the wheels looks stock, about 330bhp. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

I said to my wife watch it's not going start. Mine fires right up since I put in a Mallory Unilite electronic ignition several years ago. It was a bit humorous the car would not start in the show.
