Looks cool, but...well, I don't know that I would fly to the corner store in that thing. I'm sure it's perfectly safe, but I like being enclosed. I guess I'm a big chicken.

 

Well then, ya gotta take an inverted ride, in a "Stearman", or a "Jenny" and have the wind, and engine smells, in your face...and the ground above your head! ........just don't barf on the pilot, behind ya...

I had totally forgotten about the great aerial shots of the gyrocopter...

The famous line spoken by Skip Spence the "pilot", "No matter where you go, there you are". Green teeth yellow leotards......................typical eccentric pilot type.

 

Maybe so it doesn't have to be spun up so fast to produce the required thrust and to alleviate the "leafblower sound affect"

Yep..... I said "qualifly"! (an aeronautical term, passed on to students after a solo)
the Health Dept protocol requires that, students must provide their own "yellow" garments.......

 

I saw this eclectic bit of potential engineering on eBay a couple years ago. Somebody's farm is shy a few parts. If it gets cranked up, somebody's pilot will be shy a few parts, too.
