Crazy stuff. I remember a long time ago, someone plated their Pantera engine in pure gold. Somewhere in the depths of my loft is a magazine feature about it. mad stuff.

It seems like Panteras are designed to be modified. My favorite was the twin turbo Dodge wedge engined Pantera, that Carroll Shelby built in the late 80's. That was when he worked for Chrysler. The car had about 750 horsepower, at the low boost setting, and 900 with the boost turned up.
The owner of "Pur Gold", recently passed away. This was his creation: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Gold has a melting temp of over 1000deg C and is a good heat insulator. It was used on the engine bay of the Mc F1 too; http://www.autocult.com.au/img/gallery/hologram112.jpg
Yep, that's the car Matt, thanks for posting. Sad that the owner passed away, but great to see the car in such good condition.
