I just picked up a P4 1/43rd scale in red and there's no manufacturer name on the bottom just that its a Ferrari P4 and made in URSS, Where's that? P.
In the meantime, here's a link to one: http://mpdiecast.net/models/330p4s.jpg They are an 'el cheapo' copy of the Italian Mebetoys P4, cat. no A-27. Possibly made under licence (or not) by the Kiev Toy Co. They come up on eBay in Europe fairly regularly. My MIB example came from Poland, IIRC. The red ones seem rarer. Often as not they are painted in austere / pastel colours, as in this link.
Thanks I dont have pics but thanks for the info. It was a gift to add to my 1/43rd collection with the other Dinky grand prix open wheel cars from the early 50's I collect. I like it. It does say A-27 on it. P.
Picture please - so we can se the difference between the original italian made Mebetoys / Polytoys etc. I have heard about several Russian copies, I saw a 250 Lusso some years ago, wery bad copy, I did not buy it because of the bad quality.
There you go .... not the prettiest. Shade of red isn't exactly what you'd call Rosso Corsa, either. Image Unavailable, Please Login
