OK....This is in no way to be offensive to those of you who do....But....Yesterday it was such a glorious day, I saw many individuals out driving their Vettes, Camaros, Grand Prix's, Mustangs, Etc. But the thing that made me compltetly laugh was all of the drivers wearing driving gloves.

Maybe I am wrong here, but driving gloves are used for what reason?

First off, they were a means of protecting the hands on a Metal/ Wood steering wheel.

Secondly they aided in the grip of a tired and sweaty hand.

Arent the new steering wheels leather or pleather in some cases? Is a sprited ride on the Highway that agressive.

Im sorry, but to me it reminds me of the 1980's Joe Pisopo.

The (wood wheel) Alfa has out-lasted a half dozen sets of gloves.

The Ferrari has a leather wrapped wheel, but which do you prefer to wear out, the wheel cover or gloves?

I figure I can get another wheel cover about as easily as more driving gloves, these days.

The only reason to use driving gloves in my 328 is when I leave it parked in the sun: the black wheel cover gets to hot to handle. ;)

Meh... Gloves I can deal with, but when the oversize aviators and the scarf come out, THAT's when I come apart. Especially when it's a hard-top.

I wear some when it's too cold to hold the steering wheel in the winter; not for any performance related reason.
