The MAFFIA Club will go on the Annual Bob Smith's Coachworks Tour on Saturday, May 14. We may also visit artist Donna Howell-Sickles studio that day since she is not far from Bob's.

Bob takes us on a personal tour of his shop, tells us the history of cars he currently has in his shop, and he has an extensive knowledge of Ferraris. It's a very special treat for all Tifosi.

If you would like to go, please email or pm me as there is a limited amount of space on the tour.

    Marci, Godmother

Pencil me in. May is a little too far out for me to be sure I can make it, but I've always wanted to tour Bob Smiths shop.

    Marci -

We are interested - could possibly be dependent on how early your departure time is. We're about 2 hours from Plano if that's where you plan to start. Or perhaps we could meet up with you there as Gainesville is a pretty straight shot up 35W for us.

Please let us know more details.

    Thanks,
    Carol

It's better to make a reservation. If you need to cancel, well, there's usually a waiting list. ;-) You'll make someone happy.

    So far:
    Jimpo - 1
    Mikey - 1
Carol - is that for 1 or 2?

I'll pencil it in. May 14th is still a bit out there. Is his shop on the south side of Dallas?

    Put me down please. :)

I met Bob at the 2001 Dallas FCA meet, he was a good guy and answered all my silly questions about Ferraris. I've always wanted to visit his shop.

Just FYI that the OK FCA Chapter has a trip planned later this year and has invited us, I just don't have the date in front of me. Tillman might know. Bob's is worth going any time you can, you can go every 2 months and see many different cars and hear different stories each time. Unbelievable a place like this is accessible to us.

I have a return date for the C.H. show. No matter how much I like classic Ferraris, there are still priorities. ;)

Bob is still building his house, so tours are few this year. This is the tour we were supposed to have last October, but he couldn't make it.

I'm glad to hear that Mark is arranging another tour for later this year because this one is almost filled. A few more replies and we start the waiting list!

    I want to go, too!

I saw his flat bed carrying 250 or something like that 2 years ago. Mike at FoD then told me the car was transported from FoD to Bob's for full restoration.

Do we suppose to drive own car, or do we go there together by micro bus or something?

Yoshi, we meet at the intersection of I-35 and 380 in Denton and drive up from there. Drive your own car - preferably a Ferrari!

That can be taken at least two ways and I doubt Yoshi understands the way we're thinking Jim. :D Actually, I bet Jennie rode the short bus at one time or another being 10 miles from civilization or electricity.

    Yoshi: "I need a bus."

    Company: "For how many people?"

Yoshi: "Just a sec… 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6… maybe 6 plus me at this particular moment, but that varies hour to hour." :)

    Yeah, I didn't get Jim's post.

And I SURELY don't get what Rob's saying, too!

To get out of some trouble, playing dumb (or just being dumb) often works, you know.

Marci; I am in on this one. I was there last year and it is an amazing experience. You will see cars there that you may never see that close again.
I don't know if Carolyn will go or not, but I will notify you as soon as I know.

I have just confirmed with Donna Howell-Sickles that we may visit her art studio in St. Jo! We will go there after lunch - it's about a 20 minute drive west on 82 and is well worth it.

Donna is a nationally known artist and currently has a one-artist exhibit of her paintings at the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Ft. Worth. If you would like to see some of her art, go to donnahowellsickles dot com

    www.donnahowellsickles.com

Please let me know if you will visit Donna's studio.
