I kind of like the way shields look on a 355. My new one doesn't have them. Is there any way to get them put on with the correct stamping, or are magnetic versions the only option? Are they even barely acceptable?? It's not about the advertising, it's the way they highlight the lines.

The magnetic ones are quite cheesy. So are the stickers. It's amazing to me that someone will take an $80,000 Ferrari and adorn it with some cheesy magnet. The nearest to factory look without doing the indentations are the 1mm cloissone Yoshi shields. Do you quick search for "Yoshi Shields". I've got them on mine and they look fantastic. They are extremely high quality - darn near jewelry quality. The look absolutely factory.

The only other caution is the placement. If these aren't placed in the correct place they look stupid.

I bought magnetic shields and quite happy the way they look...no way i'm going to pay $500 for a steel plated sticker.

To each his own. Some Ferrari owners might be content with Wal-Mart hubcaps too, for all I know.

The first photo is of the high quality Yoshi shield from his website. The second photo is of the cheap magnetic ones. No comparison.

I have to agree...I've seen some cars at shows with some reeeeal bad looking fake shields. The car looks better with no shields instead of bad ones.

My car had the plastic sticker shields (factory part) fitted when I purchased it, I then brought proper shields, the difference in appearance between them is noticeable from a far longer distance than I thought possible. I notice the correct shields from over 10m, that’s when walking by and not really thinking about my car or the shields, I glance over an they shine back at me.

Get the real ones, you will not regret it.

I can't tell the difference..anyway, i saw the sticker overprice shields and frankly i prefer my magnetic ones..I have the option to take it off and not worry about the sticky glue residue.

Everyone knows the steel factory OEM shields are drilled into your car...

I have seen, I think it was the car of Dasadrew, "dents" where the shields are supposed to sit if they are factory installed.

Which means all of us who have shields, magnetic or glued are all sort of fake anyway.

    Right or wrong?????

They are far from a steel plated sticker---they are not $500---I got the ones Ricambi sells....Looking at a stock factory set and mine--you can not tell any difference....or you can go the $14.99 route and get a set of plastic ones off Ebay---I bought a set to put on my kids bicycle...

The Yoshi shields are nice, but they are after all only a $5.00 part produced in Asia somewhere, that he gets $300 bucks for because they says Ferrari. Imagine paying $300 for the same shields that say Buick on them. The magnetic shields look fine......choose what makes the best sense for your budget..... I found a perfect set of Yoshi shields on here for only $150.....

So you still over paid by $145! sucker ;)

BTW did you actually get the latest version of the Yoshi shields that are only 1mm thick, or did you get the older, thicker 1.5mm?

If you can't tell the diff then stick with your stickers. After all EVERYONE knows tht steel factory OEM shields are drilled into your car, but NO ONE will be able to tell your magnets from the cloisonne model.

    I feel so stupid now.

If that's the case, the magnetic ones were made in exchange for a quick drag off of a Camel smoke. Awful.

My car came with them in the fender. I have no idea whether they are factory or not (did they make the 348 spider with factory shields). They look gorgeous. I had the magnetic ones on my first 348 and took them of rather quickly...I then moved them to my fridge which now looks like an original Ferrari GE Profile fridge and freezer...

I thought the 348 GT Competizione came with factory shields? Admittedly, a non-US model but shields aren't completely unheard of on 348s.

oh now don't go giving up THAT easy!

Actually what's funny is I went down the magnetic road myself. I stuck them on and my wife looked at them - me all proud - and she said "You're not serious are you?" Well, about 3 days later I relocated them to the refrigerator. They now hold up report cards and crayon art from my kids.
