I saw it too, looks very worse for wear. They should do what they did to the Back to the Future Deloren and restore one original TV version for future generations.

It's been mention on here a number of times, it was used as a stunt car - Not one of the main cars (A similar thing was done on Miami Vice with the white Testarossa - They used a 1972 De Tomaso Pantera with a Testarossa replica body fitted to it for some of the stunt driving).

All of the real Ferrari Magnum PI cars were sold off when the TV studio was finished with them, and they never bothered trying to re-purchase one for display.

For whatever reason, rather than destroying this stunt replica car, it was dumped in a back-lot storage area for many years after Magnum PI had finished, and was then later put on display without it being reconditioned fully.

Interesting to see they didn't bother to put in tan seats.

The real deal is at the Petersen Automotive Museum which I visited a month ago. Also saw the nicely presented 70 years of Ferrari display. Will try to post photos of Magnum PI car when have more time.

Why are we obliged to say time and again the same things? Well, never mind: here I go again...
There is no "real deal", or at least not ONE real "Magnum car", as there were at least FOURTEEN 308s used for the seven seasons: one "main" and one "spare" for each of the seven seasons. We have listed the known chassis numbers already here...

I'm sure he knows that. Perhaps it would have been better worded, "One of the real deals..."

Was that at Universal Studios CA? I was there over the summer but I guess I missed this. Even in it's present state it would have been nice to see.

The least they could do is spray paint the black plastic seats tan.

I don't think so, unless they did a lot of work to it. Hood, fenders and roof are all different.
I owned a Mera years ago.

It was a stunt vehicle used for action scenes where there was a high risk of the vehicle getting damaged - There wouldn't have been any close ups of the interior or the driver, so the colour of the seats was pretty immaterial.
