I'm hearing they won't run the Lotus 'device' until Japan as it will be of greater benefit at those races. The exhaust and fin are probably a given but the front wing configuration is not nailed down just yet. The Silverstone spec wing has been the wing they have been running at ever race after Silverstone, but they have never run it in full downforce configuration which includes running with cascades. During testing, we have seen almost every iteration of front wing bolted to W03 to test each. If I had to guess, I would say they will be running their full downforce configured Silverstone wing for the first time since they are probably picking up around 10 points of rear downforce with the EBD. So with 10 points gained at the back end, they will add another 2-3 points at the front end to balance things, and IF they manage 12-13 points total downforce gained from these upgrades they will be winning races. 25-30 points is considered 1.000 gain at most tracks, do the math! Haha yes.
Michael still there for day 3. Don't be so angry Michael, it's just a picture, or maybe he's angry that he wore purple today? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Alot of people do not see or realize that imho as you and I do as they either think a 7 time WDC should be winning constantly or how he is supposedly damaging his reputation (that one is the biggest joke imho). Oops sorry this should be in the MS thread so we can keep an eye on.............
Mkay folks, there's some underground whisperings that Mercedes picked up half a second with the changes.
Personally, I'd be amazed if they picked that much up. Then again this is 2012 and ferrari did turn their pig around
This pic below was from day 3 I believe and is reported to be sporting a slight modified front wing. I can see F2012 has 5 elements just inboard of the endplates which then tapers to 3 elements through to the regulated center area. No cascades. They have a new F75 winglet (monkey seat) and the exhaust has been ever so slightly changed, but no new sidepods or other bodywork components, I believe it's just an internal tubing change. W03 reportedly tried a few engine map configurations on their third day. Image Unavailable, Please Login
