I am looking at getting a diablo (cause I think they rock) I am looking at the 6.0 and am wondering if maybe the ferrari would be a better choice. I love the lotus but they are way under on the power they can produce. SO what models have the most out of these 550, 355, 456, and the old Testarosa.(I think they rock too, kinda the same way the mullet is cool too)
BUT REALLY what should I be worried about. I have a budget of about 160K I would like real advice for someone who may drive it alot. I have two cars now and probably would have my GS400 as a daily driver. SOOO maybe 3,000-6,000 miles a year. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU GUYS THINK!!!
    thanks

Just wondering which Lotus you are talking about being underpowered?
As the Elise has a 0-60 time of around 4.8 Sec.
    and the V-8 Esprit a 0-60 around 4.4 Sec.

What you really should be looking at, IMHO, is how are you going to get the car serviced. I have a 91 TR which I like, however, I have yet to find someone that can service it correctly, especially the first time. For that reason alone, I am actually thinking of selling it. It has spent more time in the shop than with me. It’s like owning a Jag.

    Dear Ferraristi,

TR...like a mullet?....yikes ! Ok, old like a white linen suit with a black t-shirt (a la Miami Vice) . It's not old, it just represents a former era.

I have a 91 TR for that exact reason. I grew up watching Miami Vice and "greed is good" 80's extravagance.

A TR is a great car, but you have to drive it. The TR does not like to sit. I drive mine as a daily driver and put about 7000-8000 miles a year. I have homes in FL and GA and drive back and forth as needed. The car is great for the interstate ( which I bought it for )
....BUT ! it is really expensive to maintain. I'm sure it's only a few grand more than any other "engine-out" modern Ferrari.

You have to ask, do you like it's style? I also, love the Diablo. I will be buying myself one for my 40th birthday in a few years. Do a search on lamborghini chat " how reliable is a Diablo" ... a thread I started. I am asking the same questions you are....except my budget is smaller...$120,000

If you have any TR "living-with" questions, don't hesitate to ask.

    Freeze...Miami Vice !
