Has anyone out there ever volunteered to drive your Ferrari for a child in the Make a Wish Foundation? I would like to get some input ?

No but I've done one of the local Veterans homes.

It's fun and a great thing to do. Not sure what your concerns would be - MOST insurance (check with your carrier of course) cover anyone you have in your car.

The local Retsil Veterans Home event we cover a 5 mile course that's pretty much monitored by the local cops - it's 25 MPH as posted and they generally look the other way - the road is quite twisty and the old guys from the Retsil home really get a kick out of the ride - I've hit maybe 50-60 on that road and blown past police with smiles on their faces, knowing we're pretty safe and doing a nice thing. Get STUPID of course and they'll shut you down.

I'd suspect it would be about the same - do it and HAVE FUN SHARING.

My son had Leukemia as a baby in 2009. He's fine now, but want everyone to know how good of a cause this is.

I was personally involved with a law enforcement version of Make a Wish for many years and we held several similar events. I still participate in our local Wounded Warrior runs from Camp Pendelton to San Diego every year as well. I guarantee that you will feel deeply fulfilled and know that your generosity went to a great cause. Have a wonderful time.

Thank you to all who have responded to my post and for those who have supported the cause (or a similar cause). I feel very fourtunate to be able to own and enjoy my car and look forward to "sharing" the experience on an occasional charitable basis.
