To see so few posts in the FF section. I really dig the car and its the only modern Ferrari Id buy if I had the money.
Actually, there are more than you see. A lot of them are on the same threads. And, remember, none have been sent to the states yet. Few have even driven one. It's never going to have the sales of the 458. But, there are more posts on the FF than the 612 now.
I was able to crawl around a FF today at Ferrari of Atlanta. I gotta tell you the car is fantastic. Photos do not do the car justice. In person it really is a damn nice car. Bigger than I expected, but it is a proper 4 place car with usable luggage space.
There were two today at Ferrari of Atlanta, they're in the US now. I was withholding comment on this car until I saw it in person, and honestly I was blown away by it. As many have said before, pictures really do not do this car justice. It has infinitely more character than the 612, interior quality, comfort & style is amazing. The colors on the Neiman Marcus car are really nice. The FF is a stunner, and thankfully doesn't look like anything else on the road (and to me the Panamera is just painful to look at from the rear 3/4). I can understand why some are uncomfortable w/this style on a Ferrari, but you just have to see it in person to really understand. I applaud Ferrari for being able to take major leaps in styling and faith when they introduce a new model. Everyone knows pretty much exactly what the next Porsche will look like, aside from subtle details. A new Ferrari is always a surprise.
There is one done in "Grigio FF" in San Diego: A special grey that seems lighter than Silverstone or Scuro. Image Unavailable, Please Login
One of the Utah members just detailed an FF at the dealership. Perhaps Greg will be nice enough to post pictures. But I agree with Jerry, the FF is definitely on the top of my list. It checks all the right boxes for me.
One way to look at the FF is as Ferrari's entry into the fast, sleek hyper-sedan market, currently occupied by the Panamera and the Aston Martin Rapide. Yes it only has three doors, but all three vehicles are designed to seat just four adults comfortably with a decent amount of luggage. The dimensions rounded to the nearest inch show the similarity: Length Width Height Wheelbase FF 193 77 54 116 Panamera 196 76 56 115 Rapide 198 76 54 118 Only the Panamera 4 offers AWD, but the Rapide comes with a V-12, albeit with much less horsepower than the FF. This makes more sense to me than thinking of the FF as "Ferrari's station wagon."
That's not a US car Noble. Maybe a demo or one being sent to Aspen for the track event but it doesn't have US reflectors.
That car is gorgeous. I love all the FF haters who will have to eat their words when they see it! Thank heavens Ferrari thinks outside the box at times. Everyone else just follows the past. The Panamera is a stretched 911, the Aventador is yet another variation of the Countach, the MP4-12c is a warmed over McLaren F1. The FF is new and different. It's not for everyone and that's what's so great about it.
I think this is what makes ferrari great, every model is so different and unique and the cars are never made to please everyone. I was so disappointed with the Aventador, Lamborghini had a great opportunity to create something totally different given that the car had a new chassis, new suspension, new engine but they just punted when it came to the exterior design. Same with the MP4-12C, it looks to have a soft design so that it can be ok for as many people as possible. And finally Aston Martin's designers seem to have simply gone and stolen porsche's playbook. When the DB9 came out I thought it was the coolest car ever, such a gentleman's car, but as time passed Aston stuck to the same shape and has been so lazy that now I have lost all interest in the brand. All of their models have the same shape and look essentially the same. I am not the biggest fan of the FF but bravo Ferrari and bravo for having all your cars in the model range look completely different and not just squished or stretched versions of each other or of cars in the past.
Correct. The photo is of the one at Pebble Beach in August. It shows the Grigio FF color pretty faithfully. The one at Ferrari of San Diego is a US spec car, also in Grigio FF, and will ultimately be sold though not for at least three months.
Absolutely right. Ferrari continues to be the innovator of the pack. It does not always work, but you have to acknowledge that they continually break new ground. This is why they are so influential year after year. When Fiat took over, there was concern that Ferrari innovation would be a thing of the past. That didn't happen. They are still on top of their game. As for the FF, IMO it is a striking design that must be appreciated in person. It is commanding of attention, 'handsome' while not 'beautiful' like the 458.
I love the FF. I went to a private viewing over the summer that was a blast. In person the car is mean looking. It's also HUGE! I was blown away by the sheer size of its footprint. If I hadn't just written the biggest check Ive ever had to write in my life (to my now ex-wife) I would own one. Im torn between the FF and the 458. I will be buying one of them pre-owned when the time is right. Ape
Though it is no bigger than the Panamera or Rapide, it has a commanding presence. It is very different from what has gone before, yet it is unmistakenly a Ferrari. Somehow the marque excells at preserving brand identity, while avoiding slow incremental evolution that risks eye fatigue. Good luck on your future acquisition.
Drove one at FCI last weekend. It was absolutely insane. VERY comfortable and an awesome driving experience. Similar instrumentation to the 458. Incredible/infinite power. Outstanding!
