Today, Daisy and I are off to make a production. At the request of a youtuber who reached out. I'll get to do some driving and a naughty Fezza Testarossa will be there too for some comparison. Ahhh the old 1980's rivalry

I'll post details and the vid when it's completed.

    Stay tuned!

Ok. Filming done yesterday. Beautiful bright warm day. An interesting experience but I’m not sure The chap really understood the cars, not subjective in my view and should have compared the cars to comptemporaries from the era. Maybe I’m being unkind, but i was there

I suppose its wait and see time. if anything, hopefully some good footage of the cars.

    Isn't he a contemporary Porsche 911 owner?

Not that there's anything wrong with 911s.

He has modern GT porkies. if you check his gram and youtube channel, its all modern cars reviewed. goes via 888mf

Guess we’ll find out in due course! I’m just hopeful that the video and static shots are good. I did a lot of the driving so maybe you’ll spot my ugly mug :D

Having followed his IG handle for a while I must say most of his IG presence seems to be about promoting the notion that the 997 GT3 RS 4.0 is the greatest car ever made, I can tell you from my personal ownership of an RS 4.0 that it is indeed great, but nothing like the visceral connected driving experience of an earlier era Countach or an F40. As for the TR vs the Countach debate, The Grand Tour settled that one, the Countach QV Downdraft is a much better performing car and far more fun to drive. I have always thought the Downdraft should be compared to the 288 GTO, that's an equal comparison as per the Octane magazine compare and speaking from personal experience. However I'm sure you had lots of fun!

Yes enjoyed the experience. Looking forward to the video. But he's no Harry Metcalfe when it comes to knowledge and reviewing. Clearly knew very little about either car. I mentioned doing an owners Q&A at the end, suggested topics, but had no interest in doing so. All about him and his channel. But, if get some good footage and more exposure to a different audience then I'm happy with.

He would be more at home in a Huracan. It was OK but not much detail and unless I missed it he didn't mention anything about the handling. Superficial but good to see the cars .. that exhaust sounds loud!

Rob did I hear him say you only take it out 4 times a year for total of 300 miles? You should be tied to a stake in Piazza Maggiore square in Bologna and whipped 100 times with a wet noodle! ;)

I believe his vocabulary is somewhat limited so he used the expression kit-car when what he really meant to say was hand-built

Your car looks and sounds just awesome, I didn't even notice the TR and skipped those scenes, as I say, not in the same league, however I just received an email from a certain individual named Daisy asking if I knew how it was possible to get the new P7s...

Hi Jon, yes not a lot of details and not to the same level of review that Harry does so well. On the day of filming he had a lot of negatives about both cars. but edited out for the cut. So better than I thought. It was great just to see and hear the car being driven. Hopefully good visibility for the classic reds to a different generation. You have to bear in mind that it’s his first drive of any Countach and only for 30 odd mins. its a lot to take in

Saying that, the more he drove, the more he was warming to and starting to understand what these cars are all about.

Once you have yours, you’ll know !

Joe, you crack me up. I will source some P7’s just to get you off my back :p

I’ve not driven her much this year due to Covid and conditions. But she is well used. Out yesterday meeting that Aventador. At least my air con worked unlike the Diablo he tested. I think he focuses on less relevant aspects and misses points that a lot of people would want to know. Still, good fun and more exposure for this gorgeous model.

Thanks for your love, Daisy appreciates it!

Regarding the P7s, trust me, those old PZeros are terrible for a pre-Anniversary Countach and not reliable when the car is pushed therefore are a safety issue, you'll only realize how bad they were when you shoe the new P7s, the transformation is night & day.

Look at both the rear Countach tires at around this point @11:15. Did not know we were running staggered rears o_O
I know, cameras these days......the center makes people looks thinner.
You can see it best on a computer screen

Deep analysis Peter! But I did wonder why my car would not track straight ! :D Maybe I'll stand in the center, I could do with looking thinner. One of my disappointments was that there is no sound from the drone work nor the road work where we were chasing the camera car. Pity, as I think it would have sounded awesome. Well the Countach at least!
