Hey guys, long time no hear!! If anyone is still interested in FFO-FCHAT Tuscany 2005, I have some news. 1) S. Margherita - 2 nights at Minerva, special dinner at U'Giancu, boat trip to S. Fruttuoso with lunch & swimming in the sea... 2) S. Gimignano - 3 nights at Poggio Alloro, farmhouse with own restaurant: regional specialties, own top-quality meat... Driving the MM route to Radicofani, discovering the best unknown Tuscan roads & food. Possible horse riding & mountain biking if you want to rest the Cavallinos... 3) After a fantastic drive through the Futa/Raticosa passes, one night in either Modena or all the way into Switzerland, your choice. Costs: S. Margherita - 120 Euros per room per night S. Gimignano - 76 Euros per room per night Modena - 100 Euros per room per night Food: "top" dinners will be 30-40 Euros per person; "pizzeria & chianti" dinners will be 15-20 Euros per person. Lunches will be out in little restaurants in the countryside, expect to spend 10-15 Euros, less if you go for sandwiches! Anyone interested? It sounds like a wonderful trip! I am really envious as I have driven Tuscany before in my old 328 (BMW!) but not in this one, and it is an amazing place. Maybe next year - have a fabulous time.
Simon and "Cinquevalvole" - you were both interested in the trip. Are you still on? And what about Trevi?? Hey man, we will miss you if you don't make it! THe farm in Tuscany is not that big, I think 7 rooms is the maximum I can book. So it's 3 rooms for now if Ueli can make it, plus Simon and Cinque if they are still on, and Trevi could be the sixth... Ok I'll give it 10 days but then I'll need confirmations: several beautiful farms in Tuscany are already fully booked, and there aren't that many that offer full restaurant service!
i'm afraid that i have to miss this one, holiday and budget restrictions won't allow it for me, because i have decided to participate in scotland. it's too bad, but next year is another year.....

Ok guys, I have to give the farm in S. Gimignano a confirmation. I can cancel some rooms later, but I have to have an idea of how many people are coming. I will book rooms in Tuscany and in Modena for: 1) Wolfgang (double room) 2) Simon (double room) 3) Rachel & myself (double room) 4) Cinque (Single or double? Let me know!) 5) Ueli (Wolfgang, can you confirm that he's coming? Double room I assume) In S. Margherita I will book 4 rooms and the entire garage. This year Rachel & I will be staying at my parents' holiday home (last year it was too cold in May), which is just in front of U'Giancu restaurant (so we can drink as much vino as we want...). Eugenio and Maura will join us in S. Margherita but as he also has his own house, he doesn't need a hotel but I'm sure he'll come to all the restaurants!! ANYONE ELSE WHO WANTS TO JOIN LET ME KNOW ASAP - I should always be able to find accomodation but you may end up staying in different places to the rest of us.
